So after a blistering round 1 getting a ranking of 1323, like a lot of coaches my team crashed and burned.  What are my best moves, highlighted in red are possible guys to move out.

Backs: McVeigh, Enright, Swallow, Suckling, Birchall, Langford (Langdon, Griffiths)
Mids: Ablett, Watson, Scooter, Beams, Shiels, Tyson, Dunstan, Polec (Ellis, Cunningham)
Rucks: Jacobs, Sandilands (Derrickx, Currie)
Fwds: Riewoldt, Danger, Dusty, Dahlhaus, Lecras, Caddy (Rohan, Ambrose)

I feel like Caddy has to go for Zorko.  I'm willing to give Enright another chance if he pulls up for round 3.  I'll probably give Birchall another shot.  Jacobs I'm ready to ship, possibly down to Hickey which will let me turn Caddy into Zorko.  Scooter looked so disinterested and as an Eagles fan it pissed me off.  I have 70k in the bank.

Any ideas?

Birchall averages 102 in his last 5 vs Freo (and hasn't dropped below 80 in that time) so I'd keep hold of him
if Enright doesn't pull up (and I personally am hoping he does) then I'd look at either Hanley/Simpson
you seem pretty set on ousting Caddy, but in a rain-soaked hot game (trust me, it was) then scores weren't going to be too hot - i'd probably give another week

Jacobs is an interesting choice, but Adelaide don't look like playing a DT friendly game, so maybe get rid of him too

personally:
Enright -> Hanley/Simpson (IF he's out)
and Shiels (such a NAB liar) -> Daisy (seems to be getting that fitness back - or a dee, they seem pretty fantasy-friendly)
Jacobs -> Whoever (would nominate Mumford)

It was always a toss up between Jacobs and Mummy, I chose wrong.  If I can drop Jacobs to Hickey then I can upgrade Shiels to Pendles...jsut got to weigh up where I can get my most points.  Liked Terlich all along so I think he might be another option down back, but yeah I hope Enright pulls up.  Thanks for the input.

Isn't it an early call on Shiels? The guy is averaging 95, so not too bad for someone who was priced at 62 or whatever.

That, and he has a BE of 41, owned by less than 10% of coaches ... and got 84 on Aurora Staidum v HAwks last time...

Then, week after, he plays GCS where he cracked the tonne last time.

Uh, yea, he can stay in my team.

It's early days yet, but Essendon seem to be dominating possession so far, which meant low scores for pretty much all Hawks players, so I can overlook one average score from Shiels. Even if he gets another lowish score this week, it's against Freo so I prolly still won't jump off. I think I'd only jump off if Langford got dropped and Shiels went back to tagging.

I agree, Shiels is prob not likely to get dropped from my team, Jacobs and Caddy would be leading, but I'm almost not against giving all my boys another shot this week.

What are peoples opinions on Scooter?  I picked him based on being a keeper, but I think with Gaff, Rosa, Shuey and Masten all firing Scooter has been a bit quieter, I'm sure he'll come back to standard but don't want to lose money on him if he isn't keeper material.  I could trade him out right now for Pendles or his older bro.

me

trade scooter out on principle, 48 (especially if u had him captain) is unforgivable.

I'd go Enright --> Hibberd

and Scooter --> Cotchin

That's not a bad play, I'll be looking closely to see how Enright pulls up. Thanks.

Apart from the Carlton game I don't think he has a bad run?

Maybe Jacobs to Mummy is another option...

jvalles69

Other option I have is to just save some cash now, bring Hickey in for Jacobs and possibly trade out Shiels or Scooter for Kelly and just build my bank to upgrade later?

Options are really...

Jacobs -> Mumford/Hickey
Shiels/Scooter -> Kelly
Caddy -> Zorko
Enright -> ?

jvalles69

Jacobs out Mummy in.

Any advice on my second trade?  ???
