Why would you have him in the first place???

Because we know he can score, plus what we all thought was his only competition in Johnston, went down with a season ending injury. Who would have thought he'd be dropped for a ruckmen! Cant tell me you saw that coming mate!

Derickx in for ruck support because LRT is out... cant say he's JL's replacement

Still got replaced by him... Not saying for the same role, but he went out, and Derickx came in, therefore he was replaced by Derickx...

Derrickx replaced LRT and Jack replaced LAidler. Macca and Eski will play back if required and Derrickx will go when Tippett comes back Round 4 if LRT isnt back by then. LRT needs some time in the 2s to get some games under his belt

Tabs says: When news hit that Laidler would join the Swans there were plenty of people asking the question why? That was until we saw the stats. He is the same heigh and (almost) the same weight as the retiring Mattner, only 7 years younger. But im sure pre-season training can help Laidler get down to Mattner's playing weight. Another interesting fact between the 2 is that their birthdays are a day apart (this is getting scary). I dont know if Laidler is a walk up starter at the Swans though at the moment. Rampe, who was outstanding last year along with Teddles, Grundy, Shaw, AJ, Smith, McVeigh and Malceski are all in front of him in the depth chart and with the likes of LRT coming back from injury and Lockyer and Marsh coming through the reserves, he will have his work cut out for him to try and break into the 1s. I do see Laidler playing a couple of games this year but not many, so not only isnt he fantasy relevant but you cant afford to have him in your XV leagues either.

The Swans player profiles are now open for comment, thank you for your patience.

Please note that this is only one persons point of view on how they will perform and I am only a mere mortal.

Also note that Swans players aren't known for their consistent scoring week in week out and are the lowest averaging team in DT scoring. So if you choose a Swans player in your team and he doesn't perform one week and you whinge about it in a thread, don't expect any sympathy from myself or other Swans fans. We have carried the burden of selecting our favourite Swans players for years only to watch them kick our fantasy teams in the nuts.

Don't have Langdon ... straight swap next week if need be (1 correctional trade)  8)

Fringe player at best, has had a previous chance to prove himself and did nothing at Carlton.  dont wthink heel play many games at all this year

fever

wouldve liked at least a half dozen games from him. this is slightly irritating

SC scoring doesn't necessarily mean he played well for the team

Exactly, he didn't have a good game at all. I found it weird that everyone was looking to trade him in this week after one good score (which he got lucky with, he did score 55DT).

You obviously didn't watch him play at Carlton........

Under Ratten, before he got injured he would have been one of the first picked. Then Malthouse didn't see eye to eye with him so he refused to play him. He even had Laidler playing forward one point in the reserves which was just stupid.

Watching the game on TV he was one of the Swans better players. He won the majority of one on ones that went his way and he played a lot better then both Grundy and Rampe.
