Griffen's back, what to do with M'cray-cray?

With Griffen's return to the bullies, does the balance tip slightly in favour of Shiels in the battle of the midpricers?

Yeah I have my concerns now with Macrae. I had him last week and had him locked this week, but you'd think Griffen will steal some possessions off Macrae.

Unsure whether to roll the dice on Macrae or be safe and move him out?

Thoughts?

Macrae Pros & Cons

Cons
Second year blues
Shares the midfield with Boyd, Libba (who didn't fire on the weekend) and now Griff who will steal midfield time off him
Awkwardly priced

Pros
Farkin cheaper than a premo
Can produce premo scores (but how often?)
Won't get the tag
Can push forward and score goals
Had an unbelievable preseason and no sign of slowing down through Rd 1

I think I'll back him too, if I did move him out it would mean changing up my whole team which I'm not prepared to do

fertalong

Im backing him in also.
Worst case he will score in the 80 range which will still see a price rise

My theory is Macrae + Shiels will outscore Uber Premo + Rookie for roughly the same price.

Mr.Craig

Had some pretty decent scores with Griff in the team last year. People need to keep their expectations in check though.

I would put my money on an uber premo and rookie such as Polec, Tyson or Dunstan to outdo a combined score from Mcrae and Shiels.  Plus the option of captaining that said uber premo because there is no way in hell you are captaining Mcrae or Shiels...

I'm sure most people who have a Macrae or Shiels also have Polec, Tyson and Dunstan because it would be batshower crazy not to. The comparison should be a premo+M10 vs the mid pricers.

Agreed, I was just making the point based on the argument posted.  Not saying going in with Mcrae and Shiels both is the wrong move at all, because I considered it for a whole 5 minutes before DT reality slapped me in the face!  If I can squeeze more "keepers" in my lineup and requires less trades down the track then I go that way, Mcrae and Shiels won't be in my lineup come the end of the season just like all your rookie priced players, question is which group will make more money, the midpricers or the rooks.

I'm not sticking with Macrae. Found the cash to turn him into Scooter. Midfield looks much safer now.

Same reason I did it!  ;)
