Like most I have had Sam Mitchell slotted into my backline from day 1.
Given his low score of 68, and the fact that he plays Freo (Crowley tag) in round 3, I was thinking of changing things up a little.
I think Birchall is underpriced, and he looked great on the weekend. I am considering starting him instead of Mitchell for a point of difference, and also starting Simpson instead of Swallow.

Question is, do you think Mitchell and Swallow are must haves to start the season, or is it worth a punt on some point of differences to the majority?

I don't think Mitchell is a must have. His role seems to have changed at Hawthorne, and the lions showed he can be well held.

Dont waste your trades man, Mitchell Is a gun and will come good.  You cant jump off him after 1 game.  He is a premo and should be there for the whole season.
Over the season he will score higher than Birchall.

I really like Swallow, dont have him myself but if he scores big this week I will consider him

You do know the new rules don't you?

I'm all over Birchall too, but I do think Swallow is a must have.

I've never understood Mitchell being a must-have/lock/whatever. His price isn't going up anytime soon (not taking into consideration that it'll go down due to his 70).

Should be a safe 90-95 average, if you have the cash go with him but if you haven't got money flowing everywhere don't.

Upgrade target for me, guys like Hibberd, Birch and Swallow are much better value. Could cross values with Suckling sometime.
