Going to go with a couple of defenders that are in between the top-end Mitchell/McVeigh premiums, and the Swallow/Suckling mid-pricers. Which ones are the best bets?

Corey Enright
Now on the other side of 30, he has been a go-to man in our backlines for over a decade now. Having averaged over 80 since 2005 now, and coming off an average of 88 last season, could he prove to be a reliable pick yet again, or will he start being rested this year. Started off the season with a solid 108.

Michael Hibberd:
Burst on to the scene last year averaging 87 points per game, many would have been scared off by his hamstring troubles in the preseason. However he started the season with a bang, gathering 96 points against the sloppy Roos.

Kade Simpson:
First year as a defender, will he play in the midfield this year? Averaged north of 90ppg for a few years there, before averaging 85 in the backlines last year. Can he increase this average above 90 again? First score of the year was a respectable 84.

Bachar Houli:
A bit of a unique suggestion here, coming off a career-best season averaging 85 last year. Consistency is pretty good which appeals to me here, but not sure whether it's enough to justify selecting him for the season. Would be a POD with less than 3% ownership.

I will be choosing one or two of these blokes, suggestions welcome and any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers guys!

I like Enright and Simpson, Toga.
I think Houli could be a good POD, but I'd rather one of the other two.

LF

Simpson he might not have a high ceiling but he is just so consistent and he is also very durable
And Enright he seems to just keep on going and looked really good last week as well

I've gone Enright and Birchall as a POD.

Toga

Thanks for all the responses guys! I was leaning towards Enright & Simpson to start with and it seems the general consensus is that these guys are the safer bets.

@jamfrank, no I haven't considered Mackie actually? Any reason in particular you suggest him?

Hibberd, an absolute gun. I've got him locked in. Can't go too wrong with any of the the others, but I think he's the best bet

Slightly cheaper, looked really good last week and would have outscored enright last week if it weren't for the latter junking it up. Also be a bit of a POD. Just a thought...

+1 was a little scared having him R1 because of that hammy and then gives me a quality 96, Mr. Conisistant

Ricochet

Currently have Enright and Simpson and really don't think you can go wrong with this combo mate
