Richmond VFL stats from the weekend.

Plus here's what coach Tim Clarke had to say about all our AFL-listed players in summary:

Cadeyn Williams
19 disposals, 5 tackles
Had a run-with role on one of their better midfielders. Played his role well for two quarters but his opponent found the ball late. Probably his best offensive game.

Brad Helbig
24 disposals, 5 inside 50s
He was a solid contributor for us but was well beaten. It was his first game as a midfielder so it was really good to see him in there but we need a bigger effort from our midfielders.

Orren Stephenson
3 goals, 44 hit-outs
He was terrific again with his ruck work and gave our mids first use. Went forward and kicked three goals. His hands are much better now, he's really marking the ball well.

Matt McDonough
22 disposals, 4 rebound 50s
Started down back and was solid but we needed something different in the last quarter so he played on ball. Got a few touches, was a bit messy but an OK game from him.

Ben Lennon
1 goal, 24 disposals, 5 clearances
First game in the midfield was solid without being great. Would've liked a bit more inside ball but also needs to continue working on his decision making.

Matt Arnot
2 goals, 17 disposals
Played mainly as an extra midfielder and also played inside at different stages. Was solid but we expect more from him. We feel he's a high quality player and needs a better output to push for AFL selection.

Sam Lloyd
1 goal, 18 disposals, 5 marks
Was probably our best forward on the day. Won the ball well, put it inside 50 well and kicked a crucial goal. It's his second good game in a row so he's pushing for senior selection.

Brett O'Hanlon
17 disposals, 3 inside 50s
Was a bit down on previous weeks in terms of numbers but put the ball inside 50 and contributed to two or three goals. Once again we need our on-ballers getting more touches if we're going to win games.

Ben Darrou
17 disposals, 6 rebound 50s
Our backs were pretty competitive all day. For three quarters he won his position. The last quarter was a dampener on his game but he was quite solid.

Nathan Gordon
17 disposals, 5 marks
Played well on the wing early then went out of the game a bit. We need a bigger performance from him, a stronger presence around contests and more outside ball.

Todd Elton
10 disposals
Played a mixture of forward, ruck and back - he's a bit of a swingman at the moment. He's playing really good footy, he's improved his contested game but hasn't been able to take a game by the scruff of the neck yet this year.

Todd Banfield
1 goal, 9 disposals, 10 tackles
Didn't get too many touches but had a lot of tackles. We spoke to him about trying to contribute in some way if he's not actually finding the ball and he was able to do that on the weekend.

Liam McBean
4 disposals
Had a disappointing day but there were several contests where he showed that he's been improving in some areas we've been working on. He presented well and provided good contests, which resulted in goals, but he's better than his output on the weekend.

In the VFL match report on the Tiges site there's a link to pdf that can be downloaded with all the stats from the game (including that of our opposition).

Oh, awesome cheers.

Oh, for those that don't know...

Shaun Grigg and wife Sarah welcomed a son into the world.

Let's hope Sonny Grigg (Yes, his name is Sonny :P) has at least 10x times the amount of talent as his father, and then some.

But yeah, congrats to Griggy and his missus.

MUNDY: I'm still quite torn about living in the most isolated capital city in the world. I try to get home as much as possible but it's hard

Jay Clark has said on Twitter that we are one of many Vic clubs chasing after Mundy. Would you like to see him in the Yellow & Black next season?

Nope. Gun player but he is a couple of years too old for my liking.
Not really a game breaker either. We need a super star (fyfe)

Kellogscrunchynut

There's been talk of Mundy coming back to Melbourne for as long as I can remember so no point chasing him I reckon, Fyfe on the other hand embodies what I want to see in the tigers game and I would love to see him in yellow and black.

Jroo

Mundy is a freak.
He's not young, but we still have the talent in our side to push into the top 8 next year and he would really help.

Vinny

He is a gun but is he the guy you want? Wouldn't it be wiser to chase someone younger.

In saying that, don't blame anyone young and talented that doesn't wanna go to Richmond though, I mean your skipper apparently might want out. :P

Yeah, Mundy is what we need.
I would like someone younger, and I'd give a lot to get someone like Dylan Shiel, he's just about GWS's most promising youngster. I'd give our first round pick up for him in a heartbeat. The only problem is that GWS would want more than that, they knocked back an offer from Melbourne last year for pick two, so unless he wants out of GWS, it will be pretty hard to get him.

Ricochet

to be honest Richmond could do with a bit more leadership and experience to help them teach and develop, and also when needed in big games

... but hands off Mundy

Vinny

Quinny is putting Mundy in a Tiges jumper as we speak. :P

Exactly.

Mundy's exactly the kind of player we could do with.

He's not the youngest target out there, but I really think he's probably the best fit for the current playing group.
