i agree with you you to a certain point.

personally i'd rather go Ellis/Brown to Robertson/Lloyd.
sure you wont make money on the Brown trade but it's better to have someone on your team who's gaining money than not.
Impey is still getting games, and still making money. Keep.
Merrett has a big BE but he looks to only lose $6K, so not a big loss and still in the bombers best 22.

Ellis to Roberston opens you up to Dunstan/Merrett/Thomas to any premium.

Check out my team
any advice or suggestions appreciated.

Thanks for the input fellas. Yeah Brown to Lloyd probably is the better option to increase my playing players by 1. I wouldn't mind Ambrose getting named this week. If he did I would probably go Brown/Merrett to Lloyd/Ambrose. If they intend to use Robertson for tagging roles I'm a bit weary of grabbing him with Raines playing well in the 2's.

Ringo

For info jeesh watch Brisbanes team as Raines also flew over.

Very happy with scoring 2,319 in round 6 which saw my overall position improve by almost 10,000 spots!
Only made the one trade of Brown -> Lloyd. Despite Swan going huge I'm glad I didn't bring him in because I would have had Lloyd at F6 and then been forced to field him or Impey from here on which this week could spell a donut with both a chance of getting dropped I think.

Round 1 2,148 overall 39,002
Round 2 2,156 overall 23,545
Round 3 2,220 overall 21,647
Round 4 2,128 overall 16,407
Round 5 2,236 overall 13,559
Round 6 2,319 overall 3,993

My current bye structure is 11/11/8

23 trades

If Ellis and M.Thomas both don't play this week think my trades will be
Ellis -> O'Rourke
M.Thomas -> Watson

Happy enough scoring 2,314 this week. Now 4-1 in my cash league and sitting on top with percentage and also on top for total points.

This weeks trades will most likely be:
Merrett -> Libba via Zorko
Dunstan -> Acres
and if Ambrose gets named I'll probably make a 3rd
Impey -> Ambrose

After a horror start to the round with Hodge a late withdrawal and then Cyril doing a hammy I managed a respectable 1,660 from 17 players and managed to win my cash league game. Very surprised to see my overall position improve by 544 spots, there must have been some bad scores throughout. Bringing in Libba worked a treat for a step in captain role with the little master not available, along with Tyson's 136 and Simpson's 145 were the highlights. Before trading I'll most likely have 16 playing this week, 17 if Georgiou gets back into the side. That's on the assumption Danger is right to go and Aylett and Ambrose hold there spots. Pretty confident Aylett will with a decent final quarter coming on as the sub, not so sure about Ambrose.

Trade thoughts for this week are:
Polec -> Goddard
Cunningham -> Acres
Georgiou -> Hanley

EDIT: Thinking of going Polec -> Cotchin instead now to have one more playing round 10

Will appreciate any suggestions of alternative trade ideas

Salary 2,900

Scored 1,916 in round 9 and it's the first time all season my ranking has gone backwards and was my 2nd loss in my cash league so now sit 3rd on 5 and 2. Had 18 play but had some poor scores from Zorko, Aylett and Acres in particular. Feel like rage trading Zorko to someone but no doubt he would burn me and bust out something massive against the blues so will hold.

Trade thoughts for this week are:
Dunstan -> Selwood
Cyril -> Lennon/Cameron/Shenton

EDIT: With Acres out for 4-6 have decided to hold Dunstan and trade Acres to Selwood instead and then Cyril to Cameron leaving me with $500 left over.

Will appreciate any suggestions of alternative trade ideas

Ringo

Would wait and see teams see if Hodge and O'Rourke are named.

Like the trades you have but as an alternative Rioli to Cameron/Lennon and Dunstan to Shenton to really take advantage of Shentons DPP. Then upgrade with cash where you can maybe Hodge to Bartle/Swallow or you should have enough cash to go O'Rourke to Selwood if O'Rourke not named,

Cheers Ringo

Hodge is listed as a test so will most likely get named this week so fingers crossed.

Am hopeful after Greene's solid form that O'Rourke will get another crack plus the fact they got belted by over 100 points by West Coast you would expect a few changes to the side but he could quite easily get left out so your suggestion of trading Cyril/Dunstan/O'Rourke to Cameron/Shenton/Selwood I will strongly consider. Just tried it and I can fit it in with 133k exactly to spare

AaronKirk

What do you plan to do with the likes of Langdon, Suckling, Tyson, Higgins and Nic Nat?

Are you in a position where some of them are going to be keepers? Or will they become premos come season end?

IMO the best way for you to win the cash league would be to get these players to premos ASAP (presuming this is your main goal).

Keep Hodge for now IMO. I'd expect him to play this weekend (was out as a precaution against the Swans) and with all of Hawthorns' injuries would not expect him to be rested in the near future.

I like the suggestion from Ringo to trade Dunstan to Shenton, gives you that added flexibility with the DPP and you have a rare midfielder with decent JS and decent cash to be made.

I would also downgrade Pat Ambrose to Cameron. Ambrose has been very poor in the last 2 weeks since he has come back and I would expect him to be replaced by Chappy after the bye. Winderlich also is expected to return after the bye and Ambrose will surely lose his spot.

This gives you $400,300 to make upgrades in future weeks. This week you only seem to have 18 playing after these 2 trades above I suggest are made.

The third trade I would make this week would be to trade Cyril to Selwood via Shenton DPP.

This should give you at least 19 players this week an about $350k for upgrades in the future.

Langdon, Suckling, Tyson and Higgins will all get upgraded at some point. I'm gonna persist with Nic Nat, he has to hit form eventually one would think, otherwise once everybody else is upgraded and if I have a spare trade or 2 I might move him on. I don't think I would trade Ambrose this week could always trade him next week when confirmed out. If Hodge plays I should have 17. If O'Rourke gets named there's 18 and if I trade Cyril and Dunstan to Cameron and Selwood that'll be 20 so fielding 18 shouldn't be a problem. Once teams come out the writing will be on the wall.

EDIT: Now Nic Nat has his contract finalised and out of the way I wonder if we will see a sudden change in form? I really hope I get rewarded at some point for sticking fat.

Now teams have been released am thinking of making these trades:
Acres -> Selwood
Cyril -> Cameron
Lloyd -> Shenton

Will appreciate any suggestions of alternative trade ideas. Should I maybe consider Lennon to have 19 this week?

Change of plans. At this stage will be going with
Acres -> Selwood
O'Rourke -> Hartung
Cyril -> Cameron

and then next week might do
Dunstan -> Shenton
Lloyd -> Nroo
