Feel like I've picked a pretty solid "cookie cut" side despite only scoring 2,148.
There's the obvious overload of Hawks in the backline. I tossed up out of the 4 H's (Hodge, Hibberd, Hurn and Hanley) and went with Hodge in the end which will be a nightmare come the bye but it is what it is.
Disappointed I didn't get on Langdon but am thinking a corrective trade of Wanganeen -> Langdon is in order.
Then be able to move Langdon to D6 and sit McDonald on the pine at M10 or is it too early to trade after just 1 round?
Going with Brown might have cost me another trade if Currie gets a gig but won't be doing anything there until Currie has played 2 and named for a 3rd. If you're wondering why on earth I went with Brown it was because of the cloud that was over Nic Nat to play round 1 so by taking Brown I had enough cash aside to grab Cox in case Nic Nat didn't play.
I've got $76,000 in the bank.

I wouldnt be trading after rd1 mate. For your rookies Id wait until after rd 2 as long as you have a full team playing I have Rockliff who is rubbed out for rd 2 but wont be trading hom as still have a full side.
I think McDonald will come good, he has only played 1 game and people are jumping off him already!
Be interesting to see what Langdon will do this week, doubt heel back up with another ton.

Appreciate the input mate :D
I think Wanganeen will get dropped this week for Cyril and don't see him breaking back into a strong Hawthorn side and which if is the case he gets dropped I'm gonna struggle to find any reasons to stop me from going ahead with the trade
Wanganeen -> Langdon

Trading McDonald hasn't crossed my mind, as long as he keeps playing and making money he's doing all you can expect of him.

Zac

Go for the Wanganeen -> Langdon trade this week mate!!

I can't see Wanganeen getting anymore games, let alone stringing enough together to rise in cash.

Make the trade and have two for next week  :)

Made a couple of trades after round 1.

Wanganeen -> Langdon which was a no brainer really it gave me a link to the backs but with that link to the backs opened up the opportunity to make my next trade which I may end up regretting.
Mitchell -> Rioli After Mitchell was declared out I saw someone post a thread about trading Mitchell to Rioli and what do you know in the spur of the moment I pulled the trigger. I'll be full of regret if Cyril blows out a hammy and Mitchell comes back and kills it but it's done now.

Scored 2,156 in round 2 so I slightly improved on round 1's score of 2148. Had I have fielded the right rookies I could have done a bit better but fielding the right ones is never easy.

I've already made 2 preliminary trades after round 2.
Hodge -> Swallow There's talk about Hodge playing but I don't think they will risk him this early in the season. If he does get named I reckon it will be for a bid to try and beat freo and he will either do himself a mischief or possibly get subbed off once he starts to get sore so I think even if he gets named I'm gonna stay with Swallow who is looking like a must. So much for the overload of Hawks in the backline.
McDonough -> Tyson This trade is a no brainer. McDonough won't feature again this season and Tyson looks like he should make plenty of cash. Also means I can move Caddy back forward who I moved to the mids to bring in Rioli. Now I don't have to field Rohan or Impey which gives me some feeling that trading Mitchell was a good move.

So if I stay with my preliminary trades my round 3 line up will look like this

jeesh

With Michie getting dropped I have decided to trade him for M.Thomas instead of trading Hodge for Swallow.

Scored 2,220 in round 3 so hopefully the upward trend continues.
Round 1 2,148
Round 2 2,156
Round 3 2,220

Preliminary trades prior to round 4
Nic Nat -> Mumford
With talk about Nic Nat missing this week think I'm gonna cut and run. Any bloke that averages more than Gary (albeit only after 3 rounds against weak opposition) is a must in my book. Gonna need to free up some cash to afford Mumford so will be trading Caddy to Currie or Derickx.
Caddy -> Currie/Derickx
A couple of negatives are I'll be 6 trades down already and on par to burn out shortly after the byes and be forced to field one of Impey and Rohan once again, possibly both this week if Danger is rested.

Hopefully get Hodge back this week and he at least scores more than my bench.

Ringo

If you went Rohan to Lewis Taylor would you have enough to go Nat to Mummy.

Do not think it wise to downgrade a mid pricer to a rookie.  Next week look at upgrading Caddy if he is still stinking it up.

Cheers Ringo, I wouldn't mind grabbing Taylor but I think I need to get in one of Currie or Derickx so i've got some sort of cover in the rucks in case turf toe rears its ugly head or Mumford does himself a mischief, otherwise I could end up burning a plethora of trades on rucks when they go down. I could trade Rohan to Currie or Derick but he could still make some sort of cash where as I'm had it with Caddy. Looking through his stats I noticed he has only tonned up once from 45 games and don't think this year is gonna be any different. Can't see the point in holding him till his bye with the Cats playing WC, Hawks, Port and Tiges, maybe if Melbourne was in that bunch.

Round 4 saw my lowest score to date of 2,128

Thank baby jesus I didn't go through with my preliminary trades of Nic Nat -> Mumford and Caddy -> Currie/Derickx. Whilst Nic Nat only returned 27 I would have got a donut had I of grabbed Mumford and Currie plus I would have been forced to field Impey and cop his 29. Instead I made the spur of the moment trade of Caddy -> Merrett which got me across the line in my cash league winning by a slender margin of 35.

Preliminary trades prior to round 5

Nic Nat -> Sauce
Nic Nat wont play this week so it's time to cut my losses and bring in a replacement. I've only got 4,900 in the bank and the only player I'm willing to sacrifice for some funds is Rohan leaving me with around 500k to spend on a ruck and Jacobs seems the obvious replacement.

Rohan -> Ambrose/Lloyd
Will most likely grab Lloyd seeing there is no confirmed return date for Ambrose.

Ringo

Trades look good - Just watch which rookie of Ambrose,Lloyd or McCarthy as another are named. All have a negative B/e so all will make cash if named.

jeesh

I'm starting to have second thoughts on my proposed trades. I'm thinking of holding Nic Nat for the interim and bringing in Currie for Rohan providing he gets named. My reasoning is I want to get the best ruck in the competition and at this stage it appears to be Mummy but now it's hard to say so in a couple of weeks time it might be a bit clearer who is the #1 ruck and give me time to make some downgrades to free up cash so I can afford anyone. What do ya reckon Ringo?

Pulled out on my preliminary trades and just made the 1 trade.

Rohan -> Currie via Brown
I was certain Nic Nat was gonna miss this week and with that in mind thought well he can't drop anymore cash if he doesn't play so I'll bring Currie in on the bubble and play him for the interim till I decide what to do with Nic Nat. Happy I kept Nic Nat but feel like this could have been a massive waste of a trade seeing people say that Daw kicked a bag in magoo's and will most likely take Currie's spot in the team. At least I get one price change.

Round 1 2,148
Round 2 2,156
Round 3 2,220
Round 4 2,128

Set a new PB for the year in round 5 scoring 2,236

Preliminary trades prior to round 6

Merrett -> Lloyd
Looks like Merrett has reached his ceiling and with a BE of of 104 this week think its time to move him on and Lloyd is projected to go up by 90k this round and could be a decent cow. Only thing I don't like about this trade is I'll have a player on field who is only 117k.

Tyson -> Swan
With total disregard towards the round 8 bye I'm thinking of bringing in another round 8 bye player in Swan. No real reasoning needed picking him, he is a SC gun and is a steal at 521k. Thought about trading Ellis instead but with Ellis only being an emergency there's no real rush in trading him.

Good trades, bad trades?

Potential line up for round 6

Ringo

Your decision but I would hold off on Swan,  Ellis to Robertson will give you extra cash and imo Robbo will rise more i cash than Swan so you can do that move in Round 9 if desired. Something to consider as part opf trades as well miss out on cash cows early or get a premium now makes the game interesting.
