Thursday and or Monday games might be needed?

Last Thursday night was a cracker. Can't really pull out the "school nights" card as I'm sure most could sacrifice one or two Thursday nights a year to go watch their team.

Also if people want to see expansion in the future you better get used to weekday (Thursday) games.

it doesn't matter as long as they show the better match, instead of two bad teams playing like st. Kilda & Melbourne on a satday night

don't think supporters of both teams would be happy with that. can't always just be the same teams playing Friday and Saturday nights

also on the topic, Thursday games have really grown on me. not a huge fan of Monday games (and we get one every year vs Carlton) but I guess one a year is alright
yeah I know, but some times it is boring to watch. I do get what your saying, hawthorn always play at prime time..getting sick of them

Really not liking this Thursday night game next week, with the crows saying it's already a sellout but, it could be a 1am Tuesday game against Collingwood and it would sell-out

Yeah and the crows now saying they want two or more Thursday night games well flog me, they do that I might not renew my membership.

Mailman the 2nd

Thursday night games are not going to become the new Friday night games

Later this year, Adelaide play Collingwood at Adelaide Oval on a regular Thursday night, we'll see what crowd is pulled there, I can see it being pretty poor tbh.
If you're right tbag then I was way off then.

Crowds at Adelaide Oval have been pretty awesome in general so far, even the game last week got 42k against a bottom side.

Another monday night encounter involving Saints and Carlton for the 4th straight year? Why do they keep putting these two teams on a monday night.

Here are the crowd numbers in the past 4 years on monday night where Saints have played Carlton

2010 - 42866
2011 - 41576
2012 - 38,823
2013 - 34,054

I think this monday night they will struggle to even crack the 30 thousand mark this is deffinetly the wrong way to go about a monday night game

Master Q

It's at Etihad, and for a St.Kilda homegame, that's a decent crowd.

Yeah but the decline of 8 thousand over the 4 years the AFL should realise this. This game is not an attraction for monday night football.

When you have 2 games in Melbourne in a week and 3 of the 4 teams playing in Melbourne finished in the bottom 4 last year this is just poor fixture management.

Speaking with people today who would have to be older than Grazzy and Dudge, I think :P  crows members and they don't like the Thursday night either, they certainly don't like Sunday night or Monday either.

Sunday night the worst I can think of with Thursday close

Like I said, it could be a 1am Tuesday game against Collingwood and it would sell-out

Ill probably go (I think, maybe) but I do start early fridays

all my parents ever tell me on this subject is every game was on a Saturday arvo...and the 'game of the round' or best game was televised...I would rather watch more than just one good game, but the way it's going it will be Thursday, friday, saturday, sunday and Monday night footy.
that is too much. 5 different nights when a games is televised a week. no. next it will probably be Friday arvo/twilight footy which is ridonculous

Master Q

There won't be 5 nights of footy for a looooong time.

Thursday nights are coming soon though. Especially if new teams are ever introduced.

If I remember correctly apparently the AFL wanted to introduce a team

on AFL 360 i think he said he didn't intend to bring in a new team anytime soon and was happy with the amount we have
