Hi guys. As you would know JKH has been named on the bench but further to this a guy who attends almost every single Dees training session posted this on a forum:

"From training today, you will see I had Matt Jones in the 25, he's earned it, he was excellent today, speed on the outside, let's leave the vitriol about Bail, Pedersen, Spencer and Byrnes till after the game if it is warranted, JKH will be sub, so Byrnes  knows perform or else, we have a new coach who will have given each player a specific role, if they don't do it, he,they and we know they won't be there next week, that is the only promise Roos has made"

So looking very likely that JKH will start as the sub. This might assist some of you with making the decision whether to have him in your side and/or playing him on the field.

* Disclaimer: Don't bash me if I'm wrong!

Doesn't have to be named on bench to be sub but agree he looks like a massive candidate for the bib

quinny88

Eh he's sitting at F8 so ill still keep him.

If i trusted you and went Lewis Taylor over JHK and he wasn't sub i think a significant beating would be in order....... >:(

Paul Roos latest interview put JHK in the best 24/25..that had me hearing alarm bells anyway  :D

fever

while this is a little annoying it's not like there are many better options for F8. ambrose? merret?

timtim

I had a sneaky suspicion about this.

Guess it's Taylor as F8 for me.... but who to take his spot in the MID (I have $170k to burn, any ideas)

Merret could be a good smokie

Close is probably the only one that will miss the vest.

i'm going Merrett was obvious JKH might be sub and Gleeson should be sub tonight

Honestly thought they would go with youth and select JHK ahead of Byrnes..maybe a half each?
Byrnes spot to lose from what i understand

I wish this was the case. Would be happy for Byrnes to pleasantly suprise me though. He is a bit of a flat track bully so you never know. He dominated for the Dees in the win against GWS last year.

If Taylor and JKH are both likely to be sub it makes me lean towards Taylor, think his scoring potential is definitely higher, and the fact they have rushed him back for round 1 speaks well for his JS

What about Merret?

RaisyDaisy

At the end of the day I don't see JKH as being a big scorer in the first place

If Merrett is not sub tonight I will prob just pick him over JKH

Can I ask (genuinely) why people think Merrett is worth the punt? RD you posted in another thread exactly what I was thinking, that Taylor getting named without playing a NAB game means that they surely must rate him highly, which gives me confidence in the pick. Merrett on the other hand wasn't exactly impressive in NAB and I don't think he's in any way safe - certainly other options of people to leave the team ahead of him (Gleeson/Ambrose) but I think they're all as likely as each other. Why do you(the plural you) think Merrett will last a while?
