I hate making decisions  :-[

Is Currie being named enough to make the $612,400 price tag on Goldy too much?

Berger could be anything if he could play alone. Will still get a decent average though.

NicNat was my man all pre season but I was put off by his groin issues. Will play but may take a while to warm up? or will he go BANG right from round 1?

Hmac ive had an eye on all pre season. Proven scorer, given the ruck duties to himself at Geelong is a good sign both from his fitness stand point and how highly the club rate him. Also gives me a mountain of cash to play with.

you considered Big Boy?

think the Hawks will really suit him

GoLions

I went Goldy to Leuey so I could upgrade Crouch to Tyson

Yeah I did but he burnt me last year so im a bit more reluctant to go with him. Isnt the best tap ruckman at the best of times and sharing the duties with Hale a bit will mean he doesnt get the full time in there to push his numbers up. I still think with a good season he could average 100 but im looking for more than that from my ruckman

If you don't need to make adjustments elsewhere in your team I'd stick with Goldy. 16 tons and a lowest score of 82 in 2013 is too hard to ignore. Plus he had Daw and Petrie pinch hit in the ruck at times last year as well.  Currie won't make much difference IMO.

I just think the Hawks accurate kicking will really help him around the ground as you say he is not the best tap ruck men but is good around the ground

Yeah but Petrie and Daw are forwards that can provide relief in the ruck. Currie is a ruckman first and a bloke that can sit forward if he has to. i still see Goldy doing a majority of the ruck work but even if it drops his average by 5-10 ppg then its an expensive price to pay. Having already seen how badly he struggled when he rucked alongside Hmac in 2012 too makes me more nervous about it.

Yeah I agree in part but I also noticed that most of Big boys marks were taken dropping back inside defensive 50 as sort of a lose man. Not sure exactly what Hawthorns plans are for him but he just makes me a bit nervous. Not that theres a ruckman out there that doesnt  :-\

Anyone think that Trent West will affect Leuy's scoring as well?

Yep. West is a spud anywhere else on the ground. Berger is a very handy forward. I reckon they will split the duties 50/50

I reckon H-Mac + 300k is getting the love because people don't know which 1 either lol

See where Currie is named first... Until the team is actually out all this is extra worry. Currie might be an emergency. All I heard was he was near certain to be in the squad - which is the 25 to me. If he's named as an emergency, back Goldy. If he's in the 22, I still think you can back Goldy but yes he will take a hit - keeper prems rarely go up in price, most often they go down. It's the nature of it. Forget the price and select the points. If you're really not happy with it, then The pro's and con's of NicNat and Leuey make it a choice of safety vs potential. Leuey will be a safer bet but is no certainty of being a top 5 ruckman. NicNat may still be underdone and injury affected but if he's not he would be my odds on favourite for top ruck this year. The other option would be Cox, who as I've laboured in other threads (where's Ricochet? ;) ) is literally the only ruckman to feature in the top 5 every year in the last few years. MAY take a hit playing with NicNat but that's also not a certainty - in 2012 Cox played 2 more games to average 2ppg less than NicNat. I think old Coxy has been written off too easy by many. Having said that I ended up not picking him as I needed cash in other lines... Last but not least there's Big Boy, who represents more risk than reward for me. Worst option out of 4 potential replacements mentioned in my mind.

FactHunt

Reckon Goldy's ave. MIGHT be affected by the presence of another ruckman on the ground- but still think he'll feature strongly in the top 3 rucks for the year barring injury. He MIGHT drop a couple of $$ from his starting price, but you won't have to spend a trade by starting him.
He's still a very safe choice IMO.

RaisyDaisy

Goldy will still be a Top 2 ruck comes seasons end - it's just a matter of whether you pay top dollar for him ala set and forget or grab him later when he drops in price

I would pass on Hmac as I see him getting managed and rested a few times which will then put you in a real spot of bother

Goldy or NicNat for me - and if you go down the NicNat path you can loophole Currie - if he scores well take it this week as NicNat may get subbed out late, but each week after should play full games

ben_020285

I reckon Nic Nat will be the highest averaging ruckman this year so I would probably go with him.
