I've already selected my rucks but I can see the appeal. It will be interesting to see how he goes in comparison to Hickey. The big concern is Hmac being rested, could be a recipe for donuts.

Hmac has the runs on the board. Injury free he will average 100. Weather he lasts the season or not is another story though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a lot of people took a calculated risk on Luey in their starting team and he wasn't even named round 1. That proved to be very advantageous.

Hmac is more risky, compounded with the cautious hope Sandi makes it to the byes.  NN is safer, but is he ~200K safer?

Big rewards possible for those who have a gut feel.

In this case I definitely would. Worst that happens is HMac fails and you trade him for Hampson or Hickey later on. Rocky will be great, and as quinny said if HMac can stay injury free he could be getting 100s...

Given that rookie rucks appear to be non-existant (maybe Currie will get a couple of games but seriously shaky JS) I was considering 3 mid-priced rucks - I have Hicky + Sandi as R1/R2 and Thurlow on the bench, now trying to work a way of getting HMac at R3...
Tempting to swap Hickey to HMac now and see what happens with other players - I have 90k in the bank, Aish at M9 and LMac at D6, Aish to Templeton and LMac to 117,300 rookie who then becomes Langdon next week would work, IF Templeton, Georgiou and Langford all get named. Basically gets me 3 midpriced rucks for 1 trade (didn't have Langdon to start). How flowering dicey does THAT sound?!  :o If they don't get named I simply cross my fingers and hope that HMac can play the opening few rounds...

...I think I need an intervention. Someone have me committed.

Hmac being named looks like a trap to me. Who is silly enough to the bait thats the question. If ever there was a risky selection this is it. For those you take the plunge I admire your courage.

+1 about the rotating H-Mac-Simpson can;t see either playing 3 games straight without the other.
