An idea a lot of people can go with is moving LMac to M10 and picking up Georgiou or Langford to replace him down back, and you can always move LMac back to def in a couple of weeks time

^ all over this move...L-mac to mids..M.crouch to non playing back..take Langdons 111 get in Laider or KK next week..i have the cash so its all 1 trade and another R10 rookie in laider would be better for me structre wise down back,If M.Crouch can't get a game now with all the Adelaide injuries i am worried.

Crouch doesn't have DPP status so you'll need to rethink that strategy.
What?
--> Crouch out
--> Lmac to mids
--> Any defence rookie in

Apologies, misread that to mean Crouch becomes non-playing back.

fever

nooooooo this sucks. can only afford a 128k or less mid. dont have dunstan or templeton yet either. who is jayden hunt fella?

is honeychurch a look in for the dogs? would be nice with his dpp status too.

quick, kinda related question...  are trades reversible mid way thru a round??  if i trade crouch out and play around with my team, can i reverse it before tomorrows game?

yes because it's rolling lockout

Do not think you can do this as I got caught last year in SC and this is from the rules

Trades can be reversed right up until the start of the FIRST match (and rolling lockout) of each round. Once the round and Rolling Lockout is under way, you can no longer reverse any trades or other squad changes.

You can still edit players from teams that have not played yet

I'm still going to select him, this could actually make him a decent POD now. Happy to use him for loophole purposes in the meantime.
As long as he's named in the next few weeks you'll be fine.

It's a bit of a gamble but I figure he'll make an appearance in the next few weeks. Sando indicated he's next in line so maybe he'll be selected for next week's derby.
If he's named in a few weeks time wouldn't you be better off bringing him in on the bubble (around round 5). Then you can at least make some cash on rookies that are playing up until then and there is no risk in hoping he will stay in the side once he debuts.

Good in theory but every one of my rookies is essential for my bye planning, they won't be going anywhere until round 9.
Yeh but your banking on a rookie being picked when there are others who are already picked and have much better job security.
At the end of the day its completely up to you man but its very very risky

I'm going with a 4/6 structure and already have Tyson, Michie, Ellis, Polec & Dunstan. Aish is too expensive so Crouch is basically the only other player I'm interested in.

If Sando wasn't so bullish in his praise then I might consider swinging McDonald into the mids but I'm not entirely sold on Georgiou & Langford in terms of JS. And like I mentioned earlier, I need all my mid rookies to cover over the bye period - especially round 8 when Ablett, Pendles & Beams will be out of action.
Can you afford Templeton?

Yes but it would mean sacrificing the Laidler option.

Before round 1 ends you have unlimited trades to do whatever the flower you want as long as it's with players who haven't played yet.
AFTER round 1, as soon as the first match starts, you CANNOT reverse any trades.

It's unlimited trades for the r1 rolling lockout, so as long as you change back prior to the player playing it will work

Whats the Laidler option mate? I'd definitely grab Templeton over having MCrouch not playing on my bench though

I'm $100 short of going M.Crouch -> X.Ellis

Hahaha unlucky man, I had issues like that last year. Frustrating as flower.

My plan is to play a non-playing back to grab the 111 points and then pick Laidler in round 3 form pending. At the moment I want ironclad JS for my backline heading into round 8 & 9, and I want a player with a round 10 bye. Georgiou also becomes an option but JS is a big worry.

In the end I'm not too fussed about carrying Crouch for a few rounds anyway, this is very reminiscent of the Terlich situation. My gut feeling tells me he will be named next week for the derby. Sando was on record stating that Crouch was very stiff to miss out and that he would play plenty of football this year. I'm reading between the lines but there is method to the madness.

lol tough break man

BoredSaint

straight swap into robertson? Didnt the bombers say Martin Gleeson might also make his debut?

EDIT: WHY THE flower IS ELI TEMPLETON SO EXPENSIVE... WASNT HE A ROOKIE?

I mean, I have enough money, but forking out an extra 20k for a player who wasnt even in the normal draft seems to be pretty unreasonable from SC

At least I still have some options e.g
LMac to MID
Cash in Suckers
Hope for a Nick Robertson or similar

I think the last of those options is the most appealing

ROLLING LOCKOUT

You can trade and substitute players, name your Captain/Vice Captain and change Emergency selections right through each round, up until the time of the start of their team's actual match. Players are locked into your team only at the time that their real match has started.

From SC site.

Seems you can trade until the match - the player is in - starts.
