Have Goldy at R1, but now that Currie is basically certain to play round 1, how will that impact on his scoring? I believe Holz has said not good, so I'm considering swapping him for one of Minson, Cox, NicNat, Leuey. Who else with him currently in their team is starting to worry now? The money saved by getting one of NicNat or Leuey would also be kinda helpful...

Vinny

Yeah now I'm not sure either.

Holz, help us out haha.

From what I can put together, Currie is in line to play because Majak isn't match fit yet

Currie has been promised games, and with both Majak and Tarrant sidelined I think Currie will spend most his time up forward and give Goldy a rare chop out

Don't think it will impact Goldy much to be honest, but I understand your concern and temptation to switch to someone else

Dayze

Goldy has been in and out of my team all preseason.
This is very bad news.
Not that I'm a fan but Minson is starting to look the safer bet.

Grufflez

I thought this would happen,Couldn't see Currie signing a 2 year contract extension without some guarantee of games...even if they play him only 5-10 times this year i don't like it one bit..Goldy out back to one of Luey,Minson,Nic Nat,McEvoy  :(

:Dan Currie will definitely be in the squad. He probably hasnt transferred his training form into game form, but were really looking for that third key forward slot at the moment and Dan has been the one that has jumped up and grabbed that opportunity more than anyone else - and he also gives (Todd) Goldstein ruck relief as well

I was pretty spot on :)

Currie's Role is to play as the third tall. Cannot see him affecting Goldy's scores.

They have had Petrie give the North rucks a chop out for years now and also had Daw in the side at stages of last year so I cannot see his scores dropping.

Holz

#7
I see it hurting him a little. Goldy puts up big numbers because he is always out on the field following the ball. This will give goldy an opportunity to rest and he won't be going for hitouts in the forward 50.

I still see him going 105+ so I'm keeping him. As he should be top 2.

A possible benefit is with him not being worn out as much he might not post those low scores at the end of the year that he sometimes does.

Ricochet

Not many ruckmen aren't impacted by the addition of another ruck to the team. Cox used to still post huge averages but recently even he has dropped when NicNat plays. I'm staying away

eaglesman

Ok surely minson has to become a more attractive option over goldy ... he might miss out on 3% ruck time and goldy might miss 25-30% now ....

i understand these comments mate but petrie is a star marking forward and the roos are lost when he isnt there (no tarrant early either who do they kick it to?), daw showed me he has no idea in the ruck but can have glimpses of forward talent .... now I am not claiming to be an expert on all things currie but to me he only looks to be suited to be playing the position of a ruckman not a forward?

a player like mcevoy who is he actually competing with for a ruck birth? Hale? . I see Hale taking less ruck time off McEvoy than what currie will take off goldy ... Roughead? He is needed at full forward .. thats why i dont mind the mcevoy pick

then there is nic nat and cox, risk/reward and mr consistent ... just when i thought i was set in the r1 spot --- I am not

thoughts?

Cox is a good selection if you want to go premo, the only consideration is a fully fit Naitanui is clearly numero uno. Just when this occurs is anyone's guess but to be on the safe side I'm steering clear of both.

Minson will probably average 105+ but he's way over priced, Goldy is in the same boat.

I've gone down the mid price route and picked up Hampson, I think Hickey is also a reasonable alternative. If I had 520k to spend I think I'd go Luey, at least he'll score tons 50% of the time.

But why not go someone like Leuy Holz and bank the 100k cause he can go 105+ too.

kilbluff1985

Big Boy will go 105+ calling it now

GCSkiwi

We have no idea who'll go 105+, calling it now :P

rucks are now my upgrade targets.
