Good idea guys

If your going to spend a trade to get Laidler anyway (Corrective Trade) then it makes sense to start a donut this week, get Langdons score, then trade in Laidler after

I like it

true, some careful planning will be in order.

Bump. Now Georgiou is 100% upgraded, who gets the nod? Worried about JS for both..

Yes JS is a worry for both.

Did Georgiou take Clarkes spot or Rileys? I f Rileys then he could be back in 3 weeks. Either way he would have to play well to keep his spot.

Langford had a good PS. There are a lot of Hawks to come back in - Cyril,Lake,Stratton,Sewell different roles but players will have to miss out on their return no?

LF

Upgraded for Clark so his JS in that way is good as Clark could be out for awhile

I guess all of them, with possibly the exception of Sewell, are 100% in Hawthorn's best 22. So is Langford in Hawthorn's best 18-19? I would tend to say no

On that logic, would it be fair to lock in Georgiou over Langford?

Grufflez

I just think Clarkson really wants to get Langford tagging and let Shiels run free, guessing Shiels would still get the job vs dangerous opponents but i reckon that's what he has up his sleeve..i like Langford.

Bottom line is I'm happy to use a corrective trade to get the best player out of Langford, Laidler, Georgiou & even Tippett. That's why I'll be fielding a non-starter in round 1 and claiming the 111 points.

Risky Risky Bully my friend...back your own judgement mate  ;)
Back rookies at the moment look like McDonald,Langdon,Geargiou,Langford...missed the boat on Laider who i will only be burning a trade on if 1 of these 4 fail over 2 weeks.
I won't be chasing the 111 personally.

I allow myself 2 corrective trades every year, this year much of this will be shaped by my eventual back line selections. I will start Cutler or Tippett if they miss round 1 and work from there. I'm still very keen on Laidler if the truth be known, he's the one player who I believe will be around for the bye period. The rest are a lottery, some may not even see a price rise.

So then the other playing rookies that you've started, well you'd better hope that none of them flop ;)

That's really the only potential risk, if that does happen and you have to make 2 correctional trades on just your back rookies... (this goes for anyone with this tactic)

Not a big issue as I have 111 locked in for this round and next week I'll use the loophole again (presuming my non playing rookie doesn't get named). After round 2 I will carefully assess who looks to be cementing a position and make the necessary trade. I will set aside enough for Laidler but will be happy enough to pick up any others if they are performing above expectations. If two players from my team are dropped or rubbed out I will just push forward the process by a week. All things considered, I see very little risk in this approach.

It's more of a sacrifice than a risk. You're basically saying "SuperCoach, I shall offer you 1 trade in exchange for the best available defence rookie, and loophole for potentially more points in the first 2 weeks" rather than "I shall have a stab at picking the right defence rookie and avoid wasting a correctional trade if possible"
