Had to laugh at people predicting pre season that Port would fall off and not make the 8. Didn't seem to be based on any kind of reality.

Whats changed? They have beaten 2 sides that wont play finals.
Good start to the year from Port but nothing surprising so far
Surprised yet?

Every team will wish they had a genius like Hinkley.

Yep, they have surpassed everyones expectations now and look set to finish top 4.

Can they win the flag? I think they can if they finish top 2. They are clearly going to be very hard to beat at Adelaide oval. Still not 100% convinced on them in Melbourne but if they finish top 2 they probably wont have to play there until the GF.

Hinkley has been fantastic. of course he is, he learnt from the best at Geelong ;)
Its funny, so many clubs looked over him the past couple of years and even for Port he wasnt their first choice. Fantastic coach

Fantastic coach? Nahhh.... Astonishing coach!
Watch any of his post match press conferences. They are thought provoking and mind opening. Nothing like the negative, meaningless dribble you get from the likes of Bomber, Malthouse, Buckley, the Scott twins... etc, etc.
Just amazing stuff.
Will be at the PORTtress in a fortnights time for the blockbuster against Hawthorn.

Have gone from not enjoying watching Port (So much so that i actually didn't) to really enjoying the brand they bring each week  now. They play a great game and will be near on impossible to beat at home. Happy for all those that stuck fast and rode out the dismal times. Dudge was one, seeing him some weeks after Port had played, ya just felt for him. So different these days he's having the time of his life again. Crazy what our footy teams mean to all of us and how it affects us when their down. Not sure seeing him so happy isn't as bad as seeing him so miserable haha.

I feared for your club and it's existence in 2012, i worried that footy in SA would go back to humdrum if this state lost Port through amalgamation with another club or folded, i didn't want to lose the showdowns as much as they hurt when things don't go my way. You only really fully understand how much you enjoy something when threatened with loosing it and the pain or the joy only reinforces what it means.

I hoped that Port could somehow find a Hinkley, a magician who could turn it all around quickly on the ground, a Kochie who could get the club sorted financially off the ground as i didn't want to lose what SA footy had gained through the introduction of Port into the AFL. Now its my turn to suffer until we can produce a game that can rival yours but i can wear that i got what was needed. The bad times are what makes the good times so good but careful what you wish for people the barbies are now top of the ladder and a genuine threat for another flag omg, not real sure this is what i wished for but i am happy for SA footy and a rivalry that hopefully lives forever and a day. ;)

OMG, watch this vid!

I'm hoping 2014 is a year remembered for many, many years to come for lots of reasons... Port just need to make it happen.

Chances of Polec getting a tag vs Dees and/or Saints Port supporters?
