Hearing rumours that Belichick could be done for a season and Brady half a season, including the super bowl.

Neither should be suspended. Until they have proof of someone actually tampering with the balls, a fine has to be the most severe outcome.

Imo what happened is that before the game Brady got the balls to have the lowest possible legal PSI and then in the next two and a half hours before the game, sitting outside, they dropped below the legal limit.

people shouldnt think anything sinister about a pro football team worth millions of dollars unable to organize the footballs fit for play ???

Yep it's dumb, and we should be fined. But it had no impact on the game and therefore the NFL shouldn't make the incident have an impact on any future games.

i was probably to sarcastic :D i dont know what the punishment should be but i do know that it has to discourage these types of 'grey areas' being exploited. if the punishments are outrageous could u imagine how much emphasis would be put on the pre game checklist? u no like every other part of the NFL, how does the single most important piece of equipment not receive the same professional attention?

The Colts player who intercepted the Brady pass (it was first reported that he was the first to notice the under inflated ball when he caught it, and then alerted officials) has come out and said he never noticed anything wrong with the ball.

So Brady and Belichick have denied it, the Colts player who reportedly begun the controversy has denied it and the NFL haven't even talked with Brady yet.

DeflateGate is a load of poor reporting and overreactions.

seriously doubt the NFL want a cheating scandal in the lead up to their showcase after the year they have had with domestic violence

i agree it hasnt effected the result of the game

it is classified as a breach of the game laws

if the NFL lay down on this there will be under inflated balls in every week next year

George Bailey, was there anything sinister about his two games of slow over rates in this ODI series? probably not, gamesmanship  maybe, doesnt really matter as it was against the games rules and he is out suspended, if this was one of the finals of the world cup that he was suspended for it wouldnt change anything either.

From reports here there is little liklihood of any action being taken prior to the Superbowl.

Can not turn on a news channel over here with this being the leading sports story onviusly and quite often lead story.

Speaking of Bailey and over rates, ball tampering in cricket also leads to suspensions, the fact is you tamper with the ball in any sport is illegal and you face a reasonable penalty. Considering this is a 2nd major offense for Bellicheat he should be suspended. You set the precedent now to stop other teams from doing it, Goodell can't be a soft cock about it again like he was with the Spygate situation or the domestic violence issues earlier in the year. Then again he is a clown and no one knows how he still has a job......

He's a knob and it's why he's likely to overcompensate and do something dramatic, like a suspension.

Back on track, break the rules and the punishment has to discourage others from doing so...

If not the new motto of all teams should be 'if ur not cheating ur not trying'
