Mat0369

Per the NFL rule book

QuoteWith the exception of the last two minutes of the first half and the last five minutes of the second half, the game clock will be restarted following a kickoff return, a player going out of bounds on a play from scrimmage, or after declined penalties when appropriate on the referee’s signal.

It stops because he went out of bounds until the set the ball because it is before the 2 minute warning in the first half.

Mat0369

Yeah, I think we are so used to it stopping on out of bounds plays that we forget it only kills the clock in certain situations

Mat0369

Wright didn't have the height to cover Gronk there.
