Lol at Russell Wilson being rated the same as Brady in Madden 15 ::)

I'd rather have Wilson over Brady for 2015, just

Madden ratings are a popularity contest mostly however, for me it doesn't matter what OVR a player is though as I'm actually good at the game and can win with anybody behind center.

I reckon ratings should be adjusted tbh- Manning and Rodgers' OVRs are only 5% better than Wilson, when I'd say they're 20% better players right now. Same with how they're only 25% better than a rookie like Bortles rather than 50% .

MUT records are not an achievement. Most of those guys either get there ass kicked and IP boot their opponents or play with their level 99 teams and beat up on guys with level 70 teams. The funniest thing was when I would smash those pimped out legend teams with my crappy 70 overall team with Graham Harrell at QB and Taiwan Jones at RB. I'm lucky I have a 360, I have heard it has been unplayable due to  their region F ups on PS

Just got home from my first gridiron training

One of the youngest and lightest there, but was great. Probably going to play a mix of RB and WR on offense and DB on defence.

Thighs aching from 10 million high steps, but I'll push through with a few PEDs :3

It's a tough sport. Apart from the physical toll, one of the major issues you will have is time and travel. I had a training session with one of the seniors teams as a 17 year old. Mum took me since I didn't have a license (18 in Vic). I was going to rely on a mate who was doing some kicking at the time to take me to training and games until I turned 18. That never eventuated so I had to bail which I wasn't happy about. They kept emailing me to go play juniors for them since I would have been eligible for two seasons (under 19's) but the travel is a major issue. There were 4 junior teams, one was in Geelong which is over an hour away, throw in uni conflicting with training times and it is a nightmare.

There was an expansion team a couple years back which was local so I joined them for a season. It was all fine at the start but eventually I had a couple niggling injuries and was working late and couldn't make training nights which is critical if you are implementing new plays and schemes. I also had to work some weekends and considering the travel time for games was crazy some weeks I had to miss a few games.

I have the same deal now, I work in the city and my roster might mean that I finish around 7, so unless I change teams again so I am closer to work, even then at best I could only probably do 2 half sessions a week.

If you are serious about playing, the only advice I can give you is to make sure you have the availability to train. It's not like footy where you can train once a week and turn up and be fine for game days. There is a lot that goes into a playbook and you have new things introduced each week, if one guy doesn't know how the play is supposed to develop and his role when you get out on the field, it just F's everything up.

Also I am trying to get numbers for a fantasy football league. It looks like a lot of guys won't be returning so if you want in just let me know. We will draft around the last week of pre-season

Is this in WA, Jukes?

My brother plays here in SA and has for many years now. (He is actually president of his club now).

He's also been on training camps and played for Australia (as a depth player not a starter). Due to the contacts he's made on these training camps he's played a few games in the WA league in previous years and the last couple of months (off-season for SA league) has played a few games for Bendigo.

He would play all year round if he could. His body will be pretty stuffed soon though ;)

I'm hoping my schedule and travel will stay good. Uni on monday, and tuesdays until 4, training starts at 6, then Wednesday I have umpiring training, thursday uni until 1:30, training at 6, then Friday, Saturday and Sunday have umpiring, which will ofc end when the gridiron season starts in October. My mate is in the same team and his uncle who lives near us is the defensive coach for the seniors, so when the coach can't give us a lift my parents or his can.

Can't do your fantasy league sorry, I've already got one and aren't paying enough attention to it as it is :3

Yeah in WA Rusty. My thighs are stuffed from one training session already (still ache when I walk the next day), don't want to imagine what it'd be like year round.

Fantasy league was more of a statement to everyone

Lol at the Bengals paying Dalton that much ::)

It is terrible considering they were talking of moving him on after the playoffs last year. This season was supposed to be his last chance to show something otherwise they were likely to trade him and go QB in the draft. Looking at the deal how it breaks down it is not that bad for a QB considering what some other guys are getting paid. It is front and back ended, incentive based and it is also team friendly in terms of keeping some of their best players further down the road. I just find it interesting they were willing to rush the contract discussion and lock him in so quickly. I think it mainly has to do with paying him under this seasons cap by giving him a couple of bonuses while they have the room.

It will be interesting to see how this deal impacts the other FA and QB's available to renegotiate their deals like Foles. They bring it up in this article

http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2014/08/what_andy_dalton_reportedly_signing_6_year_116_million_deal_means_for_nick_foles_eagles.html

Also it wasn't the reported 116 million this article has it listed as. it is about 10 mill less.

Anybody else reckon the jags will contend for a playoff spot? They won't make it or come that close, but 8-8 or maybe even 9-7 aren't looking impossible. Bortles was very sharp and impressive, Gerhart could become AP 2, talented O-Line w/ Beadles and Joeckel, and a decent defence. They're matched up against the AFC North (beatable), NFC East (shower), and ofc get to play Titans (shower) and Texans (could be good could be shower again). If they're really lucky could go 10-6, 7-9 or 8-8 looking more likely though.

And pretty hilarious how Michael Sam gets a sportscentre breakdown of his 1-tackle pre-season game ::) maybe all showerty college athletes should come out before their draft so they're guaranteed a roster spot and fame.
