Bully

Also thinking that Georgiou wouldn't be a bad option given he would be a useful loophole player. Sure, it's potentially less cash generation but will provide extra points. I also think at some point he will be given a run, particularly if Melbourne get flogged on a regular basis.

Thanks for all the thoughts and opinions guys

This approach definitely does have its risks, and I totally understand and agree with the valid points that Rico, felsty etc have raised, but I guess I want to try and do something out of the box. I'm not saying this is the best choice, or the right thing to do, but you gotta try new things if you want to succeed.

Yeah it could backfire, but I'd rather take a calculated risk instead of following the pack and doing the same as everyone else

Cheers lads

I strongly advise against chasing this score. What happens if you bring in a non playing rookie and in a week or two langdon gets dropped. And also think of byes. You don't take these kinds of risks with rookies and need as many playing as possible
Just also want to add... what if LMac or Langford ton up as well? Its a marathon not a sprint guys

If Langdon or my other def rookies get dropped it has no impact on this anyway. Having Crouch at M10 isnt going to help if Langdon or a def rookie gets dropped. If they get dropped then that's a different issue

M10 is the spot for this donut rookie, and considering I have all the good mid rookies plus Dunstan at M9 I think this is fine. If anything I can now bring McDonald into the mids for coverage if I need it too

I'm convinced this a good idea that works. I just need to weigh up if the loss of $ not being generated by Hunt is worth the advantages of this strategy

Guy's I can tell you from experience the "Floating Donut" is not worht it over the year.

Me and my mate last year trialled it where he had a floating donut "he finished 21st overall and was 3rd at one stage" and I did not have it and went with the extra cash cow "I finished 49th overall and was as high as 19th.

It seems good on the surface but the reality is after round 3 we all have floating donuts from players out etc.

Good point you raise here. I think it's the DPP and the ability to move 3 rookies around, between def and mid that still has me liking the idea

Team flexibility can be added during the season when making downgrades ect..no reason to throw your preseason structure out of the window
