I am hopeful that this will not cost a trade.

It will possibly delay slaughtering a cash cow by one week.

Ideally someone like KK will start week 2 and by all accounts outscore Georgiou anyway.

No extra trade.

More points this week.

More points eventually.

Better team.

More money eventually.

Ideally!

If we had an article confirming he is in their best 22 when fit then i'd do it, i'm just not sure where he fits into their team? Replace Lemmens...?

This is a completely reasonable and plausible exercise.

For those that have him as an 'E' mid, Crouch getting the extra week to recover from Tonsillitis could be the answer there.

For defense however, the stocks have been so thin that you can't reasonably, or confidently, pick any1 not named this round to give you the on field donut you need, and come in Round 2. It would be highly speculative and not worth the risk.

Time is on your side though, and there's another full week to await news on KK (for instance).

I don't have him at all :(

Doc, if you REALLY want Langdons score this is what you do

Dump Crouch from M10 (I'm assuming most have him there) and switch him to the same priced Jayden Hunt from Melbourne

Hunt is Def DPP, so you can swing him with McDonald this week, putting Hunt onto the field and getting Langdons score while McDonald sits at M10 for rd1

I am actually thinking about doing this myself, because having all of Hunt, McDonald and Langdon who are all Def/Mid DPP could be really handy being able to switch those 3 all around every week. If my D7 (Langford/Georgiou) is playing each week, Hunt as a M10 floating donut could really work

This works for me because I have McDonald at D6, but for those who have him at D5, this move is risky. I only need to field 1 of these 3 every week, as the other two would sit at D8 and M10. Add the fact that Melbourne play a lot of Sunday games this also allows me to loophole McDonald and Langdon each week too

There is a small chance that Hunt actually plays next week for Melb, which means we cant do this, but I doubt it, but it would be nice if he does later in the season

Maybe I should have kept this idea to myself  :-X

Could be an alright idea, but i really dont like having a player not making money in my side... Haven't heard alot about Hunt but if he is a chance to see games then it could be a good option. At least, all the variables don't play till week 2 so it can wait to see who is named and who isn't next week.

I strongly advise against chasing this score. What happens if you bring in a non playing rookie and in a week or two langdon gets dropped. And also think of byes. You don't take these kinds of risks with rookies and need as many playing as possible

tor01doc

Agree with O'Shea.

I think RD that you are potentially a bit too clever.

Will prob grab KK if not selected.

Hey Doc - Cutler played his first game of the preseason against Swans Last Saturday.  He had injury issues in the preseason and will probably get games later on after he gains match fitness. Being named in the Team for last Saturday shows how close he is to selection given the Reserves also played a NEAFL trial.

I am in the exact situation, and I'm tempted, its a great idea RaisyDaisy, but what happens if Crouch comes out and is a superstar! I guess its also possible that Langdon had a flukey game last night and gets dropped in a couple of weeks, then we are def up the creek without a paddle, Best scenario is that Crouch isn't named next week.

ubeaut

Reaally can't see him being dropped after that game. He was a shining light in an atrocious pies performance.

But still chasing his score with another non playing rookie quite risky.

Irrelevant. If Langdon gets dropped it has no impact on M10

Langdon was my biggest locked defender of the rookies this week. I've said in other threads I truly think he will get enough games early on as he is replacing Marley. All the other guys coming back soon, Seedsman, Thomas etc are not competing for that spot. Possibly Seedsman, but I reckon he comes in and others like Sinclair make way

If Langdon gets 5-7 games we are laughing, any more is a bonus!

I'm going with  RD's idea think it could pay off especially if your going for an overall win! If just going for a league win however i would stay away

Ringo

I have Langdon at M10 atm for DPP purposes.  Like Raisy think he will play most games early in the season and even when Seedsman comes back think Frost or Sinclair will make way before Langdon.

I think Langdon JS went up last night Maxwell plays his 200th next week after that his spot could be up for grabs I think the game has gone past him and think Clarke won't see to many more either
