Hi guys,

When do the prices change in AF? I've read a couple of conflicting articles today...

Mr.Craig

Prices will begin to change at the conclusion of Round 2. It seems that from then on a player only needs to have one game before they change in price. FanHub have released contradictory statements on the matter and frankly everything to do with AFL Fantasy is a wait and see prospect at the moment.

This could almost be one of the worst moves of all time. Why don't VS attack Russia too?

The price changing system was perfect. Three games is what should be in every way. And yet they're flowering with it for no good reason.

Toga

Yeah they change after Round 2.

But are they actually gonna change round-to-round from then on? That's flowering stupid if so, why would they change that?! ::)

Ricochet

I actually think its a more realistic reflection of a players form.

What if one of your premo's (Gaz for example) gets injured in the first quarter for a score <10? Will his price just plummet because it's no longer a three-round rolling average?

"There is an updated pricing system that more accurately reflects the likely value of Players from the beginning of the season and results in less short term volatility in Price changes, making it even more important to make the right long term selections."

"Players' Prices change from Round to Round depending on how they have been performing over the previous weeks and months.
The Players' Prices will change based on a formula that takes into account their past performances. All games played by the Player since the start of the season are taken into account in the calculation of their Price changes, with a sliding scale of weightings with the most recent game receiving the highest weighting, as well as a component of their performance last year - if they played last year!"

That actually sounds quite reasonable - less volatility is possibly a good thing. It just means there won't be as much value in players coming back from injury...where you'd grab them on the bubble when their injured game was about to disappear from the pricing calculation.
