Another Combo - D5/R1

D- Mitchell, Shaw, Hanley, Hurn, _________, Langford (Langdon, Georgiou)
R - _______, Sandi (Derickx,  Thurlow)

Two blokes from a team that wont win a game, or McDonald and Grundy. Thinking scoring potential similar for both combos?

I'm starting Hickey/Sandi. Had a premo R1 all year and now have decided I cannot pick a guaranteed premo ruck so I am going with Hickey due to being the number one ruck

I'm glad to hear that Daisy, I have had Hickey & Sandi for quite a while now for the same reason, looking for a few extra weeks research and to grab the right ruck coming into rounds 4-6. I feel less nervous hearing your doing the same as I feel it allows me to fill other lines and provide the coin to have Beams at M5.

you need macdonald in the def. gonna be the best def rookie this year.

I am not sold on hickey, and what when sandi goes down? you wont have any $$ to upgrade him or hickey. Picking sandi at R2 means you need a solid R1 IMO

Cant find that much use for the extra 50k.. maybe Impey to McDonough but dont kniw if his JS is any better

Biggest problem for me, like others I think, cant find any premium rucks worth picking from the start. And whether your r1 is goldy/cox, or grundy/hickey, that doesnt change your situation if Sandi goes down, your still left with 1 playing and 1 non playing ruck.

Contigency plan if I pick grundy, still left with 25k in the bank, sandi goes down, sandi to hickey/hmac

The difference is, with a Goldy/Cox you wont have to worry, as they will be pushing out 90-100+ scores, hickey may only throw out 65-80 so sandi going down makes a diff. I currently have Big Boy, but that may change

How does Sandi going down make a diff? If he goes down, why cant you just trade him to Hampson or Hmac?

Obviously don't want to be burning trades on sideways trades to cheap rucks, but its the risk you take when starting to cheap rucks

My thoughts too, say I have Grundy pumping out 75s instead of Cox/Goldy 90-100+.. im in no different position as with extra cash I have roughead pumping out 100s in the fwd line, instead of higgins 75s.. either way my team is scoring the same. Just not going the rucks for an extra premium as I really cant form an opinion on who will be the best 3-4 scorers, yet im confident roughead will be top 8 fwds, potentially savin me a trade if I pick the ruck premium wrong

Definately not the best pkayers in either position, but to get the rest of them right, and start 4 premiums back, mid and fwd have to suffer someone
