Not sure if it has been done before but how many people are going all out with the round 1 free hit, I.E. only having  $115200 players on the bench regardless of if they are playing leaving you vulnerable for a late withdrawal.

Don't think i'm brave enough.

Ricochet

Yeh I'm doing it. Shouldn't be many late outs in the first round. You'd be very unlucky if there was and it affected your team

Flame

Load up on guys that could go bang in Rd 1- Cheap benches!

Probably get away with it in the Backs couple of okay players that might get games at that price and rucks you should be right. Mids and forwards you might need to spend a little extra to have a playing benchy incase of late withdrawal.

As Ric says you would be unlucky to lose one before the game but you never know.

Im doing the same, also my round 1 team wont look much like my round 2 team either  ;)

Ricochet

In saying that there are some 115k rookies that could line up round 1

Georgiou if he gets elevated and Cameron in defence
Ross and Hallahan for the hawks in the mids with Sewell, Rioli, Savage, Guerra, Buddy, Lake, Stratton all missing from the Hawks best 22.
Currie and Thurlow in the rucks
Kersten in the fwds

ScreechRoo

is it a rolling lockout until the following fri night game nek week? then we will know withdrawls before hand right? this is afl fantasy that im talking about lel

SydneyRox

Midfeild is stacked. Backs are lean and fwds speculative.....

Expect almost the whole team to change for rnd2

Late withdrawals you can do nothing about, late withdrawals are normally due to coaches being pricks and taking the player out at the last minute or the player gets injured/sore in the warm-up after lockout. This is why its good to have an emergency. The rolling lock-out lets you adjust your team before the game but once your team is locked in before the bounce you can still loose a player because of the reasons stated and still get a donut if you have no emergency.

You would be very unlucky to get a late out in round 1 provided you don't pick players under an injury cloud. I'm doing it and I expect most people to do it too.

Ok i'm changing my tune, I can squeeze 2 players in that I want if I do it then get my choice of who I drop after round 1 to upgrade the required rookies. Having done it I can't see why you wouldn't!

Jalapeno

Is everyone making a team just for round one and then changing everything before round 2?

I feel like this is cheating and that we will all have identical teams at the start of round 2?!?

Whats everyone doing cause im really confused still haha  :-\ ??? ::)

Chelskiman

I was just going to make my normal team but now I'm just having a crack at Round 1, because why the hell not?  Plus it might mean you're behind the 8-Ball early in terms of OA ranking if everyone rips out monster round one scores and you don't.

Yeah i think im gunna have to do the same then.... Doesnt feel right though haha :-\

So is it gunna be a Sydney, Hawks and Melbourne team then haha ::)

me

my team is purely designed for round 1, even got bird in there lol =/

really struggling picking the sydney players ... parker/mitchell/franklin/bird in fwd line ---- who the hell do u choose lol!?

it's dangerous guessing which matches are going to yield the highest scores, often it's pretty deceptive - wouldn't be surprised to see the best dt scores come from matches that ppl have basically noone from (eg. cats/crows, wce/dogs, north/dons)
