is it a rolling lockout until the following fri night game nek week? then we will know withdrawls before hand right? this is afl fantasy that im talking about lel
Late withdrawals you can do nothing about, late withdrawals are normally due to coaches being pricks and taking the player out at the last minute or the player gets injured/sore in the warm-up after lockout. This is why its good to have an emergency. The rolling lock-out lets you adjust your team before the game but once your team is locked in before the bounce you can still loose a player because of the reasons stated and still get a donut if you have no emergency.

thankyou, that makes it a lot clearer

Yeh I'm doing it. Shouldn't be many late outs in the first round. You'd be very unlucky if there was and it affected your team

I'm sure Dayne Beams late out from last year is still haunting some players though

It's pretty much all luck anyway, just because someone is playing an easy team or has a good history against them doesn't necessarily mean they will smash it.

Remember Ablett vs Melbourne last year? or Watson vs GWS? I'm just gonna back in my normal team for the round one free hit.

I think the difference is by having $115k players as your b8, f8, r4 and m10 at the absolute minimum it will probably allow you to go into round 1 with an extra premium over your normal team. It also allows me to take into consideration things like, who will Crowley go to? Etc.

I was going to do that but then I thought about where I was going to get the cash from to upgrade those 115k rooks to the dearer options after round one - You would have to cut the extra premo that those cheap rooks allowed you to have and if they killed it for the rest of the season you'd be regretting it.

But will you regret taking a mid priced player who scores 70 over a premium who knocks out 120? I know it's all guess work but the opportunity is too good to pass up.

+1 Anyway since we have unlimited trades until R2 starts you've got the ability to scrap your whole R1 side and start over. You keep the score it got so that's why its a FREE hit!!

Yeah same, keeping my structure just going with a couple of unique premium options that could do well, bearing in mind these are the spots that I have not decided on yet (d3 and f4)

It's pretty much like a "matchday" comp but with a full squad...

So just quickly this morning I made pretty much what I think my team will be for round 2 and it got me thinking that this whole you can completely re do your team for round 2 and onwards idea has to be very close to the worst idea they have come up with. I can see at least 50000 teams having no more than 4 or so players different, there is just going to be no variety. Even with 2 trades a week you could still have SOME trouble fix things that you may have missed but now at least the top 50 000 players will be able to change up anything.

Yep and people like me who were always going to have Langdon on the bench down back and Swallow as a cheaper defender will be screwed over because everyone will bring them in this round.

Swallow wasn't exactly a unique pick mate. There's been talk all summer about him.

Langdon on the other hand probably was.

It's the round 1 free hit. He was always going to be in my round 2 team but not my round 1. Turns out it was a mistake but his ownership was always going to rise.
