Tyson VS Aish

Tyson has been locked for a long time, but at 217k I fear that any sub 60-70 game could turn him into a slow burn, so I am wondering if Aish might be the better pick and save the 30k?

I cant see a team where I can have both in, nor do I want to as I am already spending enough in the mids to begin with, so I am going to have to miss out on one of these guys, and I am leaning towards going with Aish

I know there is no right or wrong answer here, but Michie, Ellis, Polec and Dunstan are locked, and I would prefer to have a 117-123k rookie at M10 as anyone more is just too much money in the mids for me

Ringo, GL, any other Brisbane guys think Aish is locked to play most weeks? I think he played really well and scored nicely in the NAB too?

Tyson over Aish.

Always back in a player who's been in the system for a while over a first year player.

Aish will play most of the year, but im going with Tyson.

Got both - at the moment.

But, with GCSkiwi banging on about a premium R1, might restructure YET AGAIN!!!

I'm sorry  :'(...

... sorry I MAKE SENSE  8)

I think ultimately it comes down to team structures, the way rookies are shaping up and priced we're going to have to be lighter on 1-2 lines and the guns/rookies strategy doesn't come off so well when you're paying 1.5-2x as much for rookies. You mentioned you think forward and back keepers are easier to pick, in that case I can totally understand light rucks. I just don't think that's the case.I want my team to be filled with top 10 D,F, top 15M and top 5 R by the end. Really not confident on D or F, M and R easier I think...

In regards to RD's original question, I restructured to get Aish in and have both when I realised my M10 looked super dicey JS wise, so now my M5-10 are Tyson, Aish, Michie, Polec, XEllis and Dunstan. A lot of money to spend but I think they will be worth it with cash generation. Of those 6 though Aish is my least favourite, and would be the first to go if another viable option cropped up. Also agree strongly with what Ben said, if you can only get one, get the guy who's been around a while. With Melbournes list of outs his JS is pretty good, and a low scoring game is just as much of a risk to another player as it is to Tyson...

With Beams going down and Robertson not getting named in the practice match we had against the Swans, I'd say Aish is locked into the side for at least the first 2 months as long as he performs, and has been a solid scorer so far this pre-season without being amazing. I had him locked after Beams went down, but switched him for Langdon yesterday in order to bring in Goldy for Leuey. I have Tyson as well btw, but I too am deciding whether Aish would be a better choice or not due to his cheaper starting price  :-\

Keeper27

i'd like both but im already running with 5 rookies.
Tyson, Michie, Polec, Ellis, Dunstan.

who do i squeeze out for Aish??
is his JS or scoring potential any better than any of them guys??

Not worried about vest risks for Aish mate? Woulda thought that'd be a pretty big risk for him but you'd know more on the Lions

I'm not sure tbh. I think Lester should line up round 1, and he was the starting subbed on a number of occasions last year, and got subbed off once or twice as well I believe, so he may be more likely than Aish to get the vest. And when Lewy Taylor eventually comes in, which I think will be about a month in, he may be a sub candidate as well. If Aish isn't named sub round 1, I'll really be considering dropping Tyson to him.

Could get the red vest tho

Its probably the reason I like Tyson and Michie over other rookies, because they're less likely to cop a vest. Aish does have the ability to be a pretty decent scorer though

It seems to me at least that the red vest tends to go to someone who has either picked up a niggle or is struggling to get invlved, I don't think resting rookies immediately comes into frame. Green vest definitely biggest worry for rookies imo.

Interesting to see Brissie's vests from last year

IMO when Viney and Toumpas are both playing I still see Tyson getting more game time than both of these kids. Roos earmarked Tyson and Vince to play more midfield minutes so that it takes pressure of Trengove, Jones and Co. Roos is all about protecting the kids.
