Just one thing mate (haven't read it yet - too excited) there is NO CAPTAIND LOOPHOLE for AF OR RDT

- vice captains and captains will be locked in in Thursday night

Seriously? flower.

I can find anywhere on AF that says this and why would it be when its a partial lockout and you can still trade players around

Sorry fellas :-[

I just went into AFL Fantasy Classic "help" & looked up the competition guidelines and this is what it said, word for word on the 3rd line. People need to read this and clarify it's meaning, which seams like a loophole to me. There is no full lockout Round 1, only a FULL rolling lockout.

CAPTAIN AND VICE CAPTAIN
You CAN change your Captain and Vice Captain right up until the start of the full Lockout, even in weeks when there is a Partial Lockout.

Scared me for a moment there!!! But yeah, loophole is good to go!

This writeup has made me want to start Swan & GAJ and loophole GAJ in if Swanny fails! :P

Top stuff LH, premium like always.

Cheers mate. Yeah, researching made me start Swan over Pendles. They're almost the same price and I think for this week, at least, Swan will score higher than his price while Pendles will score lower!

Cheers for the write up LuHug.

Whats do you think Bernie Vince & Rockcliff will score round 1?

Rocky's already up there but I'll have a look at Vince for ya.

Great stuff LaHug!

Although Ablett looks like the obvious choice, I definitely think the rest of your article was very handy as it has pushed me to think about who to start with for Round 1 in AF given the unlimited first round trades. Thinking I might squeeze Scooter in over Rocky for this week and swap them after Round 1!

Nice work mate 8)

Cheers mate. Researching/writing this has definitely made me think twice about my own team selection. Definitely trying to find a way to squeeze Watson in atm, at least for AF.

floweren awesome stuff mate!

could I please request Vince, Masten, Shuey, and Libba ;)

Plenty of requests there but I'll try to get to them all soon.

Chelskiman

Not going to go him, but can I request Sandi?  He could really dominate imo.

DAMMIT!

LaHug

I've had to put this separately because I ran out of characters.

Sandilands - Requested by Chelskiman
2013 avg: 49.57
Best 3 scores from 2013: 80 vs. Carlton, 79 vs. Hawthorn, 77 vs. Sydney
Last 3 against Collingwood: 101, 130, 138 (123 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 62, 80, 106 (83 avg)

Coming back from injury and criminally underpriced, Sandi is a lock in every single fantasy team across the nation. He hasn't played the Pies since 2011 but was clearly good against them in his last three. Obviously, he's a much more worn down player now, having suffered through a lot of injury and general wear. It'll be interesting to see how the big fella goes against the likes of Brodie Grundy but I think, assuming he's fit, he should comfortably have the young guy's number. I'd say he gets most of his points from hitouts (say 40 odd) but I don't know if he'll be able to drag his body around to rack up possessions. The other fear is if the Dockers are careful with his ruck time, possibly resting him up forward a lot more than usual. I'm guessing serviceable but nothing special. Prediction - 75

Can I request two of my favs i am thinking of VC...

JPK and Hanners?

Mr.Craig

Calvin has gone Swan, Scooter, Ablett, Beams and Watson.

Lets see who takes Round 1 honours.

Thunderbolts

Another great year ahead of awesome articles by La Hug!!!

What a ripper for Round 1 but Gazza is hard to pass up.

me

great article dude... not sold on swanny or ablett actually... they're so expensive when guys like cotchin/watson can score the same for 100+k less ... hmm

tempted to go stanton captain, but will obviously have a look at a vc score from beams/swan/whoever i pick for first week

Jalapeno

Thanks LaHug :) Once again you have taken time to do an awesome write up :)

I cant look past GAZ although I have a strong feeling that Stants will be the highest scorer this week ::)

Strongly considering putting Stants in my team this week but don't think I'll captain him. He usually starts strong before disappearing in the second half of the season so it might even be worth having him your Real DTs to start this year and trade him off if he starts struggling.

pommyadam

can we see McVeigh too, just bfor the Smitchell vs McVeigh comparison :P

also, would like to see a vs opposition at stadium (so like Cornes' last 3 vs Carlton at Etihad) but that'd probably take FAR too long for something like this [and would only work if they've been round a while]

this also makes me non-Gaj and Swan option look weak, but hmmmmm

jamfrank

So with the rolling lock out we should be able to take advantage of the captain loophole!

I'm thinking about putting the V on Sandilands who could have a big night out up against Grundy...

Anyone else have any roughies they think could go big Rd. 1 that might be worth using in the loophole?
