Seems to be this collective belief on here that Laidler is only a depth player at Sydney and unlikely to play many games.

Not sure if people are just saying this because they hear someone else say it or if there is good reason behind it, but a couple of Sydney supporter mates of mine seem to think he is a certainty to play games right from round 1.
This along with Ted Richards claiming he is Sydneys best recruit, and will be very valuable to the backline and im wondering if he may be a safer pickup than most are suggesting.

What are peoples thoughts? Particularly the Sydney supporters.

Horse's comments about Laidler when he was on Twitter answering questions didn't seem encouraging when asked about Laidler

Ricochet

Yeh not sure what you can take from it, but...

.@ONBeebe we've given him every opportunity the last few weeks, and he has been improving. With Alex Johnson still out he may be a chance

Yeah I know but that will come down to availability of other players too. Dont want him to play 1 game and be out the door.

Those stupid Twitter interviews were all answered with the same generic answers by every coach. Dont think a single question was answered straight forward lol

So where's Johnson at?

RaisyDaisy

Pushing for rd1, but I doubt it

_wato

Yeah not expecting him to be picked. A mass cull of injuries would be his ony hope you'd reckon.

Johnson? Hmm thats dodgy then. Could be Laidler for a week or 2 then out  :-\

The thing that annoys me is that I didnt get Dwyer last season for this reason. Kept thinking he would play the first couple of games at the most but he just kept going and kept going

Dayze

I traded dwyer out thinking hed b gone the minute key Pies were coming back.
But then they got more injuries...

Sometimes Quinny u gotta trust ur gut. My gut tells me laidler is depth

Footyrulz

Rampe, Richards, Smith
Malceski, Grundy, Mcveigh
Shaw on the bench.

Hows he gonna fit into that defense?

felsty

McVeigh and Smith being earmarked for more mid time? :S

McVeigh will play the same roll as last year giving others more midfield time.
