Why the sudden doubt over McDonald?? Will score much better than Georgiou, better JS than Langford, will actually be playing which at this stage KK is not (yes, if he comes back R2 then great, but I didnt take BCrouch last year and wont risk it this year either)
North see him as a second or third year player and he's been training like all the other senior players (vs first year players who are still building their size or tank)
Plays an attacking brand of footy with great skills...

Actually nvm guys, feel free to leave him out ;)

what evidence do u have that suggests he will score better than georgiou? and remember there is 80k difference in price (averages less than georgiou in both nab games) - stupid comment

L mac is def a lock imo, unsure whether he'll outscore Georgiou but should have the best JS of all rookie "Def"s
KK's a hold for me, no point worrying until he gets 2 games under his belt

You could argue, that given McDonald is a class player who would have gone very early in the draft and essentially has been training at the club and playing vfl, like omeara and crouch both did and last year put up big numbers. I think it's fair to say he could very well score well down back compared to the other rookie priced players.

Laidler and Langdon didn't have big NABs but I was confident in laidler as I rate him as a player.

I didn't look too much into his nab as that's for experimentation and I think McDonald is already proven (as much as a guy who has never played an afl game can be).

Complete faith in him, whether that is founded, I guess we will see in a few weeks.

Confirmation that McDonald will start in Round 1 for those doubting.

Georgiou is more key position sort rather than a running half back.
Georgiou will guarantedd have more 1%ers than McDonald, but McDonald will see more of the pill. IMO I think McDonald will make more $$$ quickly for whoever invests in him, whereas Georgiou will be the sort of cash cow you will milk last. McDonald you can play on ground as a D6 and get a 60-80 out of him whereas Georgiou should have no place on your field unless your desperate to cover a donut. His 40-60 will help in that case.

well apart from their roles in the ream, there's this:

Georgiou: 60 points per 100 mins

McDonald: 71 points per 100 mins

(If you want to go by just a few NAB games)

... Dude, he's given you the nab stats. Thats all we can do since they haven't even played an AFL game yet. We can pretty safely make an educated guess that L-Mac will average more by using these stats & taking into account the roles each player is expected to play. ::)

Bully

Even forgetting averages I would say LMac has better job security, Georgiou will need to play some good football if he's to hold his place when the seniors return from injury. He's worth the gamble but not at the expense of Lmac.

ahh dude when i made my comment he hadnt given any stats ... i just think we are all expecting mcdonald to score well but the reality of it is ... he is only going to score in the 65 point range ... georgiou can do this and 80k cheaper

Pretty much why I started this thread in the first place. I really feel like we are spending 80k on slightly better JS, because I agree, expect him to score 60-80 most weeks, and if Langford or Georgiou can do the same for a cheaper price I don't think LMac is truly a must have, but his JS is probably slightly better
