This kid is locked in every single team I have seen, sometimes at D5, sometimes at D6

Is he really a lock? I've had him at D5 and 6, but when at 5 it means we are going with a cheapo at D6, but just simply assuming McDonald is a lock to play every week and not get vested seems a bit

For the first time all year, I have just completely taken him out of my side, and kept Suckers at D5, and by doing that I feel much more comfortable fielding a cheap rookie at D6, because now I only need one of D6-8 to play each week, and not rely on 2 just incase McDonald doesn't get named, or starts as sub

The extra 60+k I save by not picking him, and not having to rely on 2 def rookies to play each week has me feeling really good about not picking him

Lol imagine the carnage it would cause if he didnt get named  ;D

not in my team right now cause i have a set and forget defense but if you don't he should be locked at D6

roti

Don't forget he's already spent a year part time at the Roos, did their pre-season last year and then trained with them once a week during the season, they love him down there, there's a spot on half back for him and most importantly he is a gun. Could see the vest potentially in a few early games but he has much better JS than any defensive rookie.

Nope i have 3 forwards over 450k

admittedly my D4, D5  are under 450k but i see them being keepers by the end of the year then Suckling is D6

i have 4 mid premos though

I wouldnt have him at d5, I have him at d6. Relying on one out of him and two cheap rookies to play every week is fine by me. Would be happy not starting him.. if someone can show me 3 rookies in def with good js for d 6-8......???

yikes. who? scotland? ...duffman? .........watts?

LOL hopefully this doesn't derail into guess who KB's backline is  :P

As usual I agree with you Dmac - Just too risky to start him at D5, but then that means we have to load up on def prems, which means we go lighter elsewhere.

Its annoying to have to spend so much in the def, being the lowest scoring line, but I guess at least its the easiest line to pick set and forget premo's

Going to run the risk with McDonald D5 and Brodie Martin D6.. Very risky but should work out..
