Nothing Fancy and/or shortcuts taken in the other lines.

$1.6M gets you GAJ/Pend/Premium-Rookie or 3 Under-Priced Premiums give or take.

Ablett, Pendles, Liber, Beams, Tyson, Michie, Aish, Polec, Dunstan, Rookie.
Cotchin, JPK, Liber, Murphy, Beams,  Michie, Aish, Polec, Dunstan, Rookie.

I don't so much wanna talk about the risks as they are obvious - Captain Choice, Consistency, Reliability, Tags etc etc etc.

Just for pure discussion value, can you see more points until the BYEs if the under-priced guys get back into Top10 form?

You need to consider who takes the captaincy, certainty is all important. Even better when you have the two best SC scorers.

Already considered in the OP :P

i cannot believe anyone has voted for the second option.

The other pickle about the second option is the logistics in bringing GAJ & Pendles in a timely manner, you'll be relying on a fair few rookie downgrades to emerge in quick fire time. Seems like a headache to me.

But if GAJ or Pendles were to slip up at all ... Stanton (for example) could easily hit $600K b4 the bye (with recent years performances), and he would bring you the Super Prem scores and go sideways before his mid-season fade and effectively ask like a coin-cow :P Good for bye structure too hahaha

Iffs and butts .... i know .... ???

Would be genius though in retrospec though :-\

and if they dont slip up? you'll be basing your whole year on how to get them in, probably at the expense of allowing cash cows to max out.

if you have any overall aspirations then it becomes even more of a gimme. if only after league then i guess you could take the punt, but it could blow up. why not start one, cotch, tyson and use the spare cash to get good rookies on all lines, or strengthen prems on other lines?

If you're talking two sidways trades then you are already behind the eightball. Set a forget at least 4 premo mids. Upgrades should be the main priority around bye time, the rookies are tailored made for a round 8 & 9 assault.

I can understand the logic in leaving one of Ablett & Pendles from your starting line-up but not both. Your season will effectively be over before it began.

Option two is like riding a donkey in a horse race- Cannot win.

What about a zebra?

There's a zoo in Gaza that made it's name by spray painting stripes on donkeys because they couldn't afford the real thing. A fitting analogy for option 2 methinks.

Let's look at the uniques;
GAJ (130x2) + Pendles (125) + Tyson (75) = 460 points
Cotchin (115x2) + JPK (110) + Murphy (105) = 435 points

Tyson could easily average 80 I reckon though, and having one of Ablett/Pendles as your captain will probably get you more than 260 a week, possibly closing in on 300, so there's even more points to gain. Basically, don't do option 2.

Samm79

Option 2 works, if Pendles gets a sub par VC score on Friday and GAJ goes down as captain. You'll be miles in front of the pack!

There is no value in option 2, you're taking a massive risk for only a small chance of it paying off.

Grufflez

Compromise and start 1 of Gaz or Pendles...it's the safer option if you feel both take to much away from the rest of your team.
