40.9k remaining in the bank

I have reached a point where i cannot see any way to improve my squad until changes when players r named and i believe i have suitable plans for those who selection is not 100%. i am confident i will not have any problem buying the last three defenders under 410k issh. crouch may become cunningham if playing non-sub with parker playing as well but i see it as unlikely at best. and yeh im sure i will have no problems with 2 cheap fwds on bench, worst case ill have to upgrade one to rohan.

any doubts, concerns or suggestions r welcome, thanks.

This is the same as nearly every other team out there. Your only POD is chapman. How can you expect to win when you have the same team as others. Take some risks

i do not know about u but i see very little teams without dusty or franklin, + chappy in the fwd line is defs different enough, u may think the rucks r similar to a lot however if u take away sandi which most to all will have 1 in 5 at best will have nic nat and he is a risk. no rock and he is common on this site, cotch not hugely popular as others have too mnay r8 players already, JPK is a POD + no thomas or murphy. Seen the backline before but i have not copied it, most of the time popular picks r popular for a good reason, u do not need to be that different, ppl can start the year with the same team and end with very different scores based on decisions during the year, one does not need to be too different. But nevertheless thanks for your opinion.

Firstly  I'd steer clear of chappy, absolutely no way he's playing 22 games this year and isn't likely to make you much money. And the only other real fault I can see is that your midfield is pretty weak with 3 players under 200k. I'd suggest swapping chappy to buddy/ pav, similar price and they'll score more. next i'd probably downgrade one of your premo defenders and look to upgrade a mid rookie
On the positive side though I like the gunston pick, think he's in for a big year without buddy

I like your team.

I don't have the faith in Suckling that some others do.  I reckon there are better prospects for about the same coin.  Whilst there are a couple of rookie backs that are worth a run, I reckon you need to stack your backs with prems and mids due for a breakout - or at least due for an increase in scoring.

Your mids are where you can make some coin for latter in the season.  And that is exactly how you have set it up.  I'm also not a fan of Beams and think there a couple of players around the $350K mark who will likely score as well as or better than he.

Your Fwds - I agree that Chappy is awesome and can bust games open, but I also agree that he will likely be rested every few weeks.  There are better options at his money.  Add this to an expectation that Pav will get the same treatment from Lyon and you may find yourself short a fwd or 2 every couple of months.  There are also much safer fwd options than Caddy and Higgins.

If the planets don't align for you I can see you fwd line being Danger and Gunstan.  They're good, but not that good.

fair enough but i def rate suckling and beams. i reckon both pav and chappy will rarely be rested unless there is an injury concern (unless end of year finals position is set). one may become lance if i decide i can spare the 20k, but ill probs start with the punt of both. If there is an injury concern i can just trade out because a fit pav and chappy will score high. I wud be surprised if buddy out scored either one of this two over the first 5 rounds anyway.

Chappy not likely to make much money? priced at approx 85, averaged 100+ over the last 9 years taking out one sub effected game last year, would of been 100+ anyway if u include the sub game and the final, and a 97.7 averaged in 2005, and 98.8 averaged in 2007. i do not understand why one would think he would not make money, please explain.

Gunners,  I didn't even mention Buddy.  I'm planning on waiting to see how he fits in up nth before I decide on him - might miss the boat but magic happens.

I didn't say that Chappy wouldn't make money, nor did I say he wouldn't score well.  I said he is likely IMO to be regularly rested and that that would leave you short.

I also said that I reckon the injury clouds over Caddy and Higgins (especially Higgins) means that there are safer options available.

It's your team and as I said I reckon it's a very good team.  I simply offered my opinion (as opinions were sought).  Sorry if it offended or caused you a lack of sleep - not my intention.

Chappy played 8 games last year and is 32, he's either going to be rested regularly or have sub effected games which can damage his ability to earn money. If he was fully fit i think he'd be a great pick but he just isn't and probably won't ever be
