I've just taken McDonald out of my team for the first time all year, and I have moved Suckling to D5 with cheap rookies D6-8

I actually really like this. With Suckers at D5, McDonald is just too pricey for D6 when there are other cheaper rookies who
s JS and vest chances are just as much the same as his, but the money saved has allowed me to do other things

Cant believe all season, not once did I even look at the idea of not having McDonald, and now I am really liking the look of this

No. I've looked into starting Hampson, but he will need to be traded after 7 rounds, so I think I would rather just set in a premo, considering Sandi is at R2 and there doesn't look like there will be any rookie R3 options

Back on topic, and Suckling being at D4 in my and a lot of other teams, I feel like we are doing that because McDonald at D5 means just 1 of D6-8 needs to play, but can we be certain that McDonald is a lock and will play every week, and avoid the vest?
Thats what I've been asking for quite a while. I don't even trust him at D6 at the moment

Agree also, have him at D6 but will be ensuring my D7 and D8 are named round 1 also, crossing my fingers I'm not so unlucky that they're all out in the same week!

Remind me after selection night(s), who the cheap reliable defenders are.

always feel the backline is the line if you want to go weak.

Suckers and Mcdonald locked at D4 D5 for about the price of a premo combined I think they will come close to a premo and cheap rookie defender.

While I would normally agree to me it seems like the lake of cheaper options with some level of JS and scoring ability means you can't do this this year... This year it's the forwards for me, with guys like Rohan, Bennedy, Fasolo, Higgins, Caddy, there's plenty of cheaper options up front who should play games consistently... Suckers, Atley and Webster are the only ones that jump out around that price down back, and Atley and Webster just aren't worth it for me. Would rather be light up front.
