I think what has happened is everyone has had him locked soo long they are fiddling around with their teams for the sake of it.

My first picked defender and is locked unless something drastic happens.

Yeah that's probably it, I've been doing the same.

Think I am pretty settled with mine though, hopefully. :P

no it is because he is genuinely not that good for scoring (i like him as a player but he can be removed from games) and will not return to his best career average of 90 and i doubt whether he will even reach 82 when he played 22 games that season .... I wish I had the guts to not pick this bloke but I feel forced to so i can breakeven with the rest of the good supercoach players .... if i find testicles between now and friday he is gone!

I'm not touching him.

- Injury concerns
- Vest concerns
- Slowly return to AFL form, scoring could start low
- Everyone has him, I'm trusting my own instincts that I'll find another player that has better value for $$.

I 100% agree with these comments. I think the people that are declaring him best 22 and best 10 are getting a bit excited, his form towards the end of 2012 had him border line, he had fallen away from where he was. He had the green vest in a game back then and it wasn't to give him a rest! The last ten games of 2012 he only averaged 70. Hawks don't play that chip around game anywhere near as much. He is a guy that relies on his agility and burst over 5 yards, I think you are underestimating how hard it is to come back of a knee reconstruction, particularly when you play the way he does. Granted there are limited options at this price and the majority will have him so the risk is in not having him but it's one that I'm willing to take.

I'm picking both Suckling and Caddy as stepping stone players, both could add ~100k to their price and then all you need is a rookie downgrade making you ~200-250k and you have 1 downgrade for 2 prems in the early 500s - definitely doable around bye time given that prem backs and forwards don't generally get much higher than 550k... Some might drift up towards 600 but only temporarily. No brainer for me really...

I've just been looking over Sucklings numbers

I have him at D4 at the moment, but after looking at his (erratic) scoring, I think he needs to be selected at D5, because I feel like he is not good enough for D4. He does go missing from what I have looked at, with several games netting low scores

He is a stepping stone no doubt, but I'm starting to think I might be better off playing him from D5, or not at all

Hmmmmm

D5 - and this gives you a good average for a D5, a high ceiling, a good bye and a sound D1 - 4.

Exactly, but for him to go D5 I need to drop a premo mid to a rookie, or Luey to Hampson....

Some legend started yet 'another ruck thread'.

Go have a look at what the sages are saying.  ;)

Just found some balls and dropped Luey to Hampson/McIntosh. Turned Suckling into Hanley. Mitchell, Hibberd, Hanley, Simpson, Webster, McDonald.  Much happier now.

LOL

Premo Mid and Suckling at D4 and Rookie at D6, or Premo D4, Suckers at D5 and Mid rookie - that's the decision I have to make

More points it would seem with current option of premo mid, but cash generation and limited def rookies needed to be factored in

I've gone the opposite way. Luey to Cox. I put Hampson in and just the look of it makes me shiver lol

Have you actually watched Hampson play football!?   :o

I've seen his set shot at goal LOL

tor01doc

Want that in your team?

RaisyDaisy

No. I've looked into starting Hampson, but he will need to be traded after 7 rounds, so I think I would rather just set in a premo, considering Sandi is at R2 and there doesn't look like there will be any rookie R3 options

Back on topic, and Suckling being at D4 in my and a lot of other teams, I feel like we are doing that because McDonald at D5 means just 1 of D6-8 needs to play, but can we be certain that McDonald is a lock and will play every week, and avoid the vest?

Thats what I've been asking for quite a while. I don't even trust him at D6 at the moment
