Which team do I go with? I see merit in both structures

Team 1 has the light D6 and extra premo Mid and Team 2 has the lighter mid with heavier def. Differences between teams highlighted

TEAM 1

DEF: McVeigh, Mitchell, Simpson, Suckling, McDonald, Clurey (Langdon, Georgiou)

MID: Ablett, Pendles, Watson, Libba, Beams, Michie, Polec, Ellis (Dunstan, Crouch)

RUC: Luey, Sandi (Derickx, King)

FWD: Danger, Dusty, Pav, Caddy, Higgins, McDonaugh (JKH, Impey)

TEAM 2

DEF: McVeigh, Mitchell, Hibberd, Simpson, Suckling, McDonald (Langdon, Georgiou)

MID: Ablett, Pendles Libba, Beams, Tyson, Michie, Polec, Ellis (Dunstan, Crouch)

RUC: Luey, Sandi (Derickx, King)

FWD: Danger, Dusty, Pav, Caddy, Higgins, McDonaugh (JKH, Impey)

With either team I can upgrade Crouch to Aish, or Luey to Cox - do I do that? If so, which one?

Hibberd will change to another premo if not named rd1

Thoughts?

I like team 1 mate. Backline baisically the same as mine so obviously 10/10 :P
Midfield is really strong all though I think there are enough gun rookies to go a premium less here and turn Higgins into a premium. Really just depends on the structure you prefer though.

I will only go with Team 1 if both Clurey and Langdon are named in week 1, and Langdon isn't the sub, so I am relying on that to go with that Team

I can upgrade Crouch to Aish, but need to see if Crouch or any other cheap rookie gets named first

Thanks for the suggestion, downgrading Watson in Team 1 to Tyson would allow me to turn Higgins into anyone, but I think I will back Higgins in because if he can play til the byes he should score well enough, and then be very easy to upgrade to a premium fwd, and the same applies for Caddy, so based on that I would keep Jobe, get Aish if need be and miss out on Tyson

either side will kill it.. got a 'friend' who you can offload T2 to? perhaps EBAY? hahaha

like T1 with the extra premo in the guts..currently running with this myself. obviously our D6/F6 is up in the air but should be options available..

LOL Tiges, I have seen teams on eBay before and it boggles my mind, both that someone would actually put a team up, and that someone would actually pay for one LOL

Team 1 is my preferred choice, because I see it scoring better from the get go, but missing out on the 4th premo defender, and Tyson is the only thing that make me a little uncomfortable

Hopefully I can go with Team 1, but as mentioned that is reliable on named teams later this week, where as Team 2 is good to go regardless

I'm liking team 2,
Just my opinion Hibberd to Hurn (should average about the same)
Pav to Parker (like Pav but don't like Ross Lyon - will rest him for sure)

I prefer Team 1 also. Just keep an eye on rookies in defence another to keep an eye on and I suspect will be named is Clay Cameron from the Suns. Ubfortubnately Suns also play in week one so may not be viable.

Berger is sound in rucks but if you have the cash I would still upgrade to Cox. Even with Nat playing in same team last year Cox was still able to score well as he plays forward well.

Just a concern with Pav at F3 and whether this year he will stay closer to goals. Rather than upgrading Berger or Crouch maybe look at upgrading Pav JJ Kennedy may be an option given the Eagles draw.

Everything you have mentioned I am well and truly aware of. I've mentioned Cameron a few times in other threads, he could be that handy rookie that isn't getting mentioned - so I already have my eyes on him :)

20 minutes ago I posted about how I am starting to have concerns about Pav. I have just over 80k in the bank, and if I can start with Team 1 which is my preference, then Crouch to Aish, Luey to Cox or Pav to Buddy/JJK/Parker/Mitchell/Gunston/Zorko will be my 3 options, one of which I can go with

Team 1 is relying on Clurey, Langdon and Impey to get named, so there are risks there, because if 1 of them doesn't get named, I need to go with Team 2, and upgrade Impey to Rohan with my 80k, unless anyone else sees any other options?

DEF not sold on McVeigh @ that price, IMO will drop a bit of $$, Had Hibberd in and out my team till he got injured consistent as f*ck though, Mitchell is a must, Simpson is a solid pick good choice, suckers @ 5 is great, will Langdon wont play early?? 8/10

MID 4 solid premos, NICE Love the M1-M4, super strong. would prefer 1 more premo or a decent middy, but 4 rookies on the field is ok as long as they play and make you some great coin. dunno how much crouchy will play early on?? 7/10

RUC Leueylands is an awesome choice, going that combo too. 8/10

FWD 3 premos and 2 middy's, good choices too. how many games will McDonaugh play early on?? vest?? 7/10

OVERALL 30/40, Very solid team..

I like team 2 feel like you cant not take advantage of the mid rookies this year! Overall both are solid though

Team 2.

Watson is too expensive for my liking. He is not top top top so can wait for him to drop drop drop. Also, as previously mentioned, it robs you of a solid cash cow and forces you to select and play weaker guys ( than Tyson ) elsewhere.

Personal opinion - McVeigh not worth the extra coin at this stage. I will get him later.

Libber is a good choice. Hope he doesn't cop more hard tagging though.

Forwards a bit thin due to McVeigh, Leue and dare I say it... Suckling - there I said it.

Leue is a great choice because when you need money for rookie upgrades week 2 of round one, you can turn him into Hickey and use the money to finish your team.

I would go Team 2 as Tyson will out score Clurey by more than Watson would outscore Hibberd for about the same price difference. Also 4 mid rookies on field seems to be the cash option. I have the same forward line but am to unsure about Pavlich. Feel Caddy and Higgins could average between 80-90 up to the byes which we can then turn into inform premiums.

give team 2 a 9/10 and team 1 an 8.5. Both solid teams!

Hibberd won't play Round One though- Could you bring Langford/Clurey onto your bench for Langdon? Looks to have shaky JS in a decent pies defense.

Depends whether or not Crouch is named- if he is named i'd pick him at M10 and spend the cash elsewhere if not named then pick Aish.

Don't think there will be a massive difference in PPG between Leuey and Cox even though the Brisbane's use of West in pre-season has me a little scared about picking Leuey.
