Agree Parker and Pav best options.

What about getting rid of Parker and have both Pav and Roughead?

Two KP players is something I tend to avoid, if they both go through a lean patch it could spell trouble. The other point is Roughy may or may not be a keeper. He'll need to average 105 to maintain keeper status, not so clear cut IMO.

What do you expect your forwards to average? Two of this years forwards averaged over 105 last year, Nroo being one of them with 105.1, and Danger the other. All up, 5 forwards averaged 100+. It really shocks me what everyone expects all these players to average. I'll take a 95 average from my forwards and defenders any day of the week.

Last year was a lean one for forwards, it may also be the case again but I'd still like to set the bar higher. Walker is priced at 105 but moved to the backline this year. Others will emerge, particularly those spending more time in the midfield. Martin has a 110 ceiling IMO, Parker is another with an upward trajectory. We will no doubt see some surprises in the top 6 and my guess is that Roughie will miss the cut.

why is nobody considering cloke?

Good question - 5 sub 70 scores last year may be why.

There is apparently a loosening of the push rule which might help him though.

Also Collingwood's draw is tough to start with.

Just to add some weight to the Parker case, here's his draw leading up to the bye.

vs GWS (96 & 62=79)
vs Coll (62 & 44=53)
vs Adel (106)
vs North (86)
vs Freo (108 & 82=95)
vs Melb (91)
vs Bris (92)
vs Haw (85 & 101 & 98=94)
vs Ess (106)

Average = 89.1

He's not a super high scorer but he's super consistent, and barring the Collingwood game I'd expect him to score in excess of 90 on most occasions. I'd also expect some improvement based on last year, and my prediction is that he will push for a 95 average this year.

Vinny

Nice stats B.

Think that makes him a very solid pick if you are going for league.

Not the worst in the world if you are pushing for overall.

Better options though IMO.

There certainly isn't the upside of say a Pavlich or Franklin, but those two come with their own set of risks. The DPP is also something which could come in very handy down the track, particularly when we're all struggling with trades.

The other guy I'm seriously considering is Hawkins, if one is to get a jump on the pack then a power forward might be the way to go. When Hawkins is switched on he becomes a lethal weapon. His top 6 scores in 2012 were 159, 147, 139, 139, 135 & 130.

He also tends to have 6 game hot streaks. From round 1-6 in 2012 he averaged 101, and from rounds 14-19 he averaged 115. If he does bolt out of the blocks then those who are holding will be able to trade to a safe premium. He's risky but the rewards could be immense.
