Decent side.

DEF - Reckon ill nab McVeigh later on at his price.
MIDS - Decent but nothing exciting
RUCKS - Ryder should be a gun SC'er but he usually disappoints..
FWDS - Solid enough. McDono should be a decent cash cow plus you have seemingly solid bench options..

Nice side here.  With rookies and low priced just select those named for Round 1 - Georgiou still needs to be elevated.

Like your overall structure as Rookie priced players in defence are thin on the ground atm. 

Def - Quite strong -  Watch rookies named,
Mids: Solid line Would not change Polec to Michie  as Polec is cheaper and imo will score as well if not better. may have to look for another rookie as I do not see Taylor playing in round 1.
Rucks:  Ryder always disappoints can through in a good game followed by 2 shockers.  If wanting to look at cheaper options rather than a prem look at McIntosh, Hickey or Hampson to free up cash or Look at Mumford, Berger, McEvoy or Pyke as a POD.

Ryder has shown that when he is the only ruck on the ground that he can dominate but do you still think that is too risky? Reckon I should go Ryder out for someone like Pyke or Lobbe and I have been looking at Pyke a lot and think he may be a good pick up but Dericx or Nankervis or someone like that may be backing him up this season and that will take some of his points

I just like Taylor for his dpp :)

There may be other rokkies playing from round 1 with the DPP so keep an eye on that,  I prefer rookies making money from Round 1.  Honeychurch is one that may get a game before Taylor.

I had Lobbe picked for a break out year this year but his preseason from put me off a little.

Most teams may be going a dual ruck strategy this year due to interchange limits with a resting ruck forward to save an interchange so do not be put off with that,

Good team but I feel your bench is too thin in all positions except mids.

yeah I know but I think people should try and spend as little money on there bench players as they can! Ryder will most likely change to someone like Pyke! He would be a good pod imo

Great overall team!

Backs: Absolutely love this line and can't fault it, obviously just be weary of which rooks get up.

Mids: Not a fan of Libba, just think he is a little risky and to pay that much for a 21 year old is pretty crazy. Its not like he will average 120-130 over the first 10 weeks so is a good upgrade target if averaging well. I'd rather a Jobe, but its up to you. I would also go Thomas/Crouch to Michie/Tyson which leaves you an extra 100k or so which some of you could use to go Ryder to someone like Leuey.

Rucs: As mentioned i'd upgrade Ryder, dont like picking players that are only going to average lots when another individual is out. Currie and Derickx look like the most likely to play Round 1 so, you might want to get one of those guys in.

Fwds: Great line! If after the extra cash i made you, could you go JJK to Roughy? Dont like picking players because of early good runs, seems pointless to me. Otherwise cant fault the line!

Overall, a great team!

So my suggestions (if you can afford) are:

Thomas to Tyson
Crouch to Michie
Ryder to Leuey
Thurlow to Currie
and
JJk to Roughy


If you can't afford it then, maybe try Lobb to King see if that gives you enough...

You asked me to check your team out, but I don't think I can improve on Hawkers suggestions. I think it is worth spending the extra cash on the expensive mid rookies that look like playing and scoring well. That's why I too have bitten the bullet and dropped Daisy.
Keep an eye on if someone like Clurey is selected in the Backs, then maybe grab him and swing Langdon into the mids instead of Taylor. Gives you a DPP link with Mitchell.

The way you talk about looking to convert Ryder and move him later on worries me you'll be wasting a trade at some point. Better to go with a ruck you're more sure you'll keep. Especially given Sandis record of injury and the prospect of having to change him out later on due to injury.

You've had some great advice from sesaoned super coachers here and overall with the suggestions made you are on the right track. Am thinking with Buddy gone that changing to J Kennedy to Roughy sounds promising too!

AS far as rookies go, there will be some mad trading going on as teams are announced I guess. It's always a bit of a lottery choosing the right rookies to start with.

Just a thought. Everyone is locking in Dunstan for round 1 which is fair enough. But with Montagna and Hayes coming straight back into the midfield, I am worried he will be gone by Rd3, when it actually counts. So ok on the bench but too risky on the field. Just a thought.
