If they are both named rd 1 I would go Beams.

Beams has the name, the tats, and none of the ability.

Both will get regular football, just based on the mathematics of losing as many young players as they did last year.

Aish has been playing in the SANFL since he was 16, I'd back him in to cope with AFL level.

Yeah Aish has won two SANFL GF's now so has had some experience against the bigger bodies, so should be able to hold his own. I'd lean towards Aish over Beams at this stage.

That being said I think there are other picks that present better value than these boys.

I'm lead to believe that Beams was chased by a couple of other clubs but stayed with the Lions on a promise of more senior footy.  This might mean he gets that loyalty repaid.

I agree that everything I've read and seen about Aish suggests he's ready to play.

If I had to choose one (other than waiting for Rd1 selections) I'd go with Beams

If both named for Round 1 I would go Beams as I suspect Aish will get the vest. If only one named I would go neither as I suspect the one named will get the vest. Just my opinion though,
