Murray Newman has been sentenced to 12 months jail for GBH, following that punch in a bar at Northbridge.

Probably won't worry you guys too much footy-wise haha

Ricochet

Its such a shame because he is a genuine gun in the making

Nige

Damn, what a shame.

This is bad news for Marley as well.

LF

Damn shame but tbh I knew it was coming
And I expect that Williams will be following him in there as well which will be a shame.

WEST COAST midfielder Murray Newman has been jailed for 12 months after being found guilty of fracturing a man's jaw at a Perth nightclub for sleeping with his girlfriend.

Newman must spend six months behind bars before being eligible for parole and has a permanent restraining order against him and cannot be near Marris.

Newman was supported in court during the trial by West Coast teammates including captain Darren Glass, Dean Cox, Nic Naitanui and Josh Kennedy.

Can see Marley getting a longer sentence than Newman to be honest. Newman's was during a fight with the guy, whereas Marley was a 1 hit punch to a guy with his arms crossed, so think they will be harder on him.

The Act stipulates GBH attracts a minimum 12 month sentence which cannot be suspended.

Hoping both Newman and Marley get another crack at the big time, a la Andrew Krakouer.

Muzz is staying on our list so he's a very good chance to play AFL again. Hoping he sorts his shower out in jail, gets out after 6 months on good behaviour and hits the track hard for 2015.

Toga

Yeah if he can aim to be out after 6 months there's a good chance he'll be back out on the park as soon as next year if he trains hard, looks like he could become a good player so hopefully he learns a lot from this.
