Which ruckman this year can replicate what Will Minson did last year?

Will Minson increased his average by a whopping 19 points from 95 in 2012 to 114 in 2013.

There have been many discussions regarding the dreaded R1 position.

Minson, Goldstein and to a lesser extent, Cox, are too expensive to start with for most of us so we need to look at cheaper alternatives. These cheaper alternatives need to be somebody that we can bank on averaging around about the 110 mark or more and be a keeper R1.

A fully fit Nic Nat could easily go 110 but he is obviously not fully fit and is a major risk as a starting R1.

So who are the other options? Which cheaper ruckman is most likely to be able to average 110 or more this year?

Discuss.

North Melbournes Finest

Perhaps Luenberger, has a lot of talent, and than there's Kreuzer, one of those guys could go bang this year.

Gonna go really rough here and say Dawson Simpson.

I like your thinkin,  was on him a week or two back but don't Have the balls unfortunately. Going with mummy! Think with having the majority or the ruck time and not many GWS boys taking points off him I think he could go 110+

Majority of ruck time? He will be sharing ruck duties with Giles. The best option who will be in top 3 in my opinion is leuy

+1 although I too am assessing the size of my cods and whether or not I'll start him along side Sandi or not.....
He is a monster, 206cm and 116kg and lopes around the field much like Sandi does. In 2013 he averaged 10 disposals, 2 tackles and 30 hit outs. He has just turned 25 and been in the sysytem for 5 years now i think so is getting to the right age bracket for a big man to really step up.

Also I think the return of HMac will be gently gently slowly slowly so shouldn't effect Simpson too much, at least not early on. Is only going to share the ruck duties with Blicavs or Walker who won't get much centre bounce responsibilities, maybe about 85-15

Through his batural progression if he could add another 5-10 possies and 3-4 marks I think he could be the number big man everyone is wanting.....
