Im just wondering is it worth leaving money in the bank incase someone gets injured or should we stack our teams and leave close to know money ?

There are different schools of thought on this, but IMO, get as much money on the park, making money for you and scoring points.

Money in the bank, cant grow, and the difference you lose in points from a almost premium to super premium is worth it

I think I have $500 left in the kitty hahaha. I tried the strategy of having money in the bank a few years ago and fell behind from the very start. Wouldn't recommend it. 50k or so is about as much as I'd want to have spare

The answer my friend is....

Dependent upon the selectors.

If they are kind and a shower load of rookies are selected (and ideally not vested) to play on the first weekend, then no.

If you are relying upon cheap rookies playing in the second weekend, then I say a big fat hairy yes.

The other strategy is to pick a premium R1 who plays week 2 - and there are a lot of them - and be prepared to cut him lose and grab Hickey if you need to cash up. (Doesn't have to be a ruck, that just came to me as I was texting with 2 thumbs like a teenager)

at the moment I have close to no money but I am really happy with my team but I have been told that it worth saving a bit of money so I shouldn't be worried

Depends if the 100k can increase scoring in the current side. If it could do say Jack Steven to Gary Ablett then yes. But if it could only do Suckling to Swallow then I wouldn't worry about it

Spend most of it but be wary of rookies R2. I'm wanting Georgiou but 102k need a little to upgrade to Cutler/Tippett/Langford or whoever.

ATM I plan to go into the second week of rd 1 with 450k in the bank . I plan to use it on a prem or, if 1 of the rookies for week 2 does not get selected , or vested I can upgrade to a prem from week 2 . .

Think it's handy for about 50k saved.. 100 seems a bit much..

I think there is some merit in having a bit of spare cash if you need to do any correction trades. I got caught short last year when I wanted to get JJk in for Karnezis after R2 but fell a few thousand short.

At thgis stage $100k is not too much to hold as it will allow you sufficient room to manouvre when Round 1 teams are named and you need to adjust rookies.  Once teams are announced then I would be looking at spending a fair bit.  As a rule of thumb but each to his own stragy I like to keep up to $50k cash available as you never know when you are just that little bit short for a player on the bubble or an upgrade,

I think 30-50k is ok, leaves the cash to make maybe a rookie correction from a Kennedy  to Higgins, or langford to laidler if you get it wrong. Had 80k myself, but just upgraded Ryder to Luey and have 45k left. Cant really find any way of using the 45k to improve my side right now so holding onto it. Will use it to play around with my rookies though depending on whos named.

Whilst there are several trains of thought all of which bring valid points to the table as have been illustrated above, there is also another one. If you pick the team you want to start with that is incorporated in the 10 million dollar  salary cap and you have money over then it's pure bonus, It's insurance during the split round, cover if you pick Sandi and something happens to him, and also gives you the flexibility to pick up an early mover you may have missed without panic trading. I only have $16,800 left but
really wanted more. Best of luck and cheers mate.    :)

I currently have 80k left over and thats with Webster at D6. Could easily turn him into LMcDonald and have 140k left
