Dimma adamant Cotchin and Vickery will play next week. Says both came off with cork and tight back respectively as precaution
awesome go cotch :)

Its always nice to flog the Dons no matter what time of the year  8)

The tough decision for Richmond now is who we upgrade from the rookie list.

Matt Thomas was outstanding.. 10 tackles! thats what we lacked last year.
Miles would be very stiff to miss out.
Stephenson is an option we may be forced to go with as our rucks are a little thin
Gordon, Banfield and Lloyd all look like exciting small forwards.

I would elect to go with Thomas and Miles but its not an easy decision

I think we'll upgrade Miles for sure, and maybe Banfield.

I reckon Thomas is purely for worst case scenario if a few of our main guys go down. Dimma will opt to play the kids (guys like Arnot, McDonough, Lennon etc) instead. Miles is a certainty. The Big O could get elevated to give Hammer a hand, but I think we'll let Ty and Griffo pinch hit.

I think we should go with Miles and Thomas. But they may choose The Big O, as with Maric down we only really have Hampson.

Nige

If we do elevate Orren, he'll get vested a fair bit you'd think.

Thomas and Miles are my picks to. Its all about balance and structure though. They may feel that they are similair and elect to go for one of them and one of the small forwards or Orren

Toga

Yeah Thomas & Miles for me as well. Could really use a couple of inside mids this year, was an area we were lacking last year for sure. Miles probably the most deserving blokes so far, think he's almost a lock for a spot on the senior list after how highly Newy spoke of him while interviewed in our game vs Collingwood.

I think Hampson, Vickery, Griffiths and McBean should just about be able to cover the ruck for the month/month and a half that Ivvy is out, but would be upgraded immediately if there were to be any other injuries to our other big guys.

Banfield looks ok but even without him our small fwd positions are gonna be pretty competitive with the recruitment of Lennon, Gordon & Lloyd, plus McDonough looking very good and possibly good enough for a round 1 spot!

Well said Toga. We've recruited a few forwards over the off-season, so McDonough could play off half back, like he has in the NAB Challenge and Practice match.

Matt McDonough is looking good for a Round 1 start.

The only reason I don't think Thomas will be upgraded is because I'm thinking that Dimma might give Arnot more of a go this year.

Toga

Yeah McDonough has been really impressive I've thought 8)

And yeah I agree with you there Nige, think Thomas & Arnot could play a very similar inside/tagging role for us this year so will be interesting to see how both are used.
