I haven't watched this year at all and have never been comfortable with the sexism on the periphery of the show. The whole Lyon-Brownless thing is/was fairly unsavoury all round.

Heard about some wallet analogy that sounds crude at best, more than poor at worst.

I'm a father now with a young daughter and if any bloke ever compares her to a wallet I'd tell him to get f#cked...

"Heard about it" and hearing it for yourself is completely different.  Billy was in no way, shape or form, comparing his wife to a wallet, that's the bottom line here.
"You don't touch a mans wife, you don't touch a mans wallet."

That sounds alot like comparing women to wallets to me...

Yep one sentence is enough to take it out of context.  ::)

Wow, have you even seen the interview? If you have, and you still believe this you're deluded.

Crazy hey.  The fact the ppl believe everything they read from the media still shocks me.

It doesn't matter whether he meant it to be sexist or not, making women property is sexim.

So whenever a woman says, "that's my man" it must be sexist too...flower sake

Correct making women property is sexist.

If his statement was intended to infer that women our property then it was a sexist comment. You cant possibly say this was the intention though

Im not sure about others but I dont feel about Women that way and would never interpret what he said to mean that women are property.

You can read into the statement however you want, I could argue that those who look at as a sexist comment could be in fact being sexist themselves.

he is a person dealing with a difficult situation in a high pressure scenario, i think a majority of people understand that it's morally not a good idea to date a close friends ex, knowing that they wouldn't be ok with it. From my view he simply made the analogy that its something you dont do like steal from someone which is also another morally wrong act.

I don't even know where to start with this....

He didn't at all do that...

The show's become unwatchable anyway, that's why God invented #AFL360 ;)

I just can't see how Rebecca could even bother with those idiot pigs but, she's allowed to do as she pleases. I'll just sit back, not watch and wait for the inevitable controversy :o

I think that looking at female to male sexism is quite low really. Men have oppressed women since basically the start of time, so I don't think we should be looking at women oppressing men yet.

I don't think that Brownless is sexist, it's just that one part that I think is very borderline.

Thats a big change in opinion from saying its sexism to now borderline?!?  And if we don't look at women oppressing men "yet" (which I wasn't doing, just making a point) then that's sexist, and you can also throw equality out the door with it.  Thats your opinion though and much happier with your explanation here than just saying it's straight out sexism based off 1 quote that was completely taken out of context.

I'm sure Thurs night/Fri morning there will be some big conversation in this thread post fallout from the footy show!  ;)
