Load up forwards at expense of backs?

Hi guys,

I've been changing my team about 100 times a day like most of you, and I can't find the right balance between backs and fwds - I'm finding I evenly spread the cash but I'm not happy with the strength.

As such, I've just loaded up my forward line at expense of backs. Have I gone too strong and left myself exposed in defence?

Def: Mitchell, Simpson, Hurn, Suckling, McDonald, Laidler (Langford, Clurey)
Fwd: Danger, Dusty, Buddy, Zorko, Pav, Beneddy (Towers, JHK)

Def: I'm comfortable with D1-3, but Suckling D4 plus Laidler is risky. BUT, I'm thinking of rolling the dice and hope Langford or Clurey are good cover if Laidler gets dropped

Fwd: F1-5 I'm very happy with, and I think Bennedy should be a good pick.

Thoughts on balance strategy?

Pretty much the same forward line as mine mate but I have had Gray in there instead of Zorko.

Have been thinking of bringing Zorko in but it would be for either Buddy or Gray.  :-\

Nearly same backline as me too except I went Grimes and Swallow over Mitchell and Simpson.

I have a 5 premo midfield though and Lobbe/Sandi ruck combo.

How about you?

Ive gone a similar strategy and like the way my team looks. Would look better if you could find the cash to Laidler > Webster/Shaw, just so your starting 6 have good JS. Otherwise like the general balance.

Ive gone for
Def - Mitchell, Hanley, Pittard, Suckling, Webster, McDonald (Langford, Georgiou)
Fwd - Danger, Martin, Roughead, Cloke, Caddy, B.Kennedy (Rohan, JKH).

Back bench spots to be cover by two of Langford, Georgiou,  Clurey, Laidler, Langdon depending on whos named.

Confidently similar with a little difference. There are more points to be gained using this strategy IMO.
DEF    S Mitchell,  L Hodge,  K Simpson,  M Suckling  L McDonald,  J Laidler,  //  C Cameron,  A Georgiou     Maybe    Langdon, or   Clurey
FOR    P Dangerfield,  D Martin,  J Westoff,  L Franklin,  M Wright,  G Rohan  //  Z Merritt,  J Kennedy-Harris    Maybe    Colledge   or   D Towers.
I like the way this sits but like you the shape of my team is in constant change, yet I like this strategy beside a  5 / 5 midfield. Cheers mate.    :)

Yep similar to me.

Mitchell Simpson Enright Suckling McDonald Langford.    Langdon Georgiou
Danger Martin Franklin PAV Dalhaus Rohan

Interesting that a number of you are going with this strategy...

I've done the opposite, there's a number of players up front in the <250k price bracket which should be ok both JS and scoring wise... Some injury risk but with players like Higgins, Hogan, Fasolo, Bennedy, Bock, Rohan and then rookies like Lennon, Kersten, JKH to choose from there seems to be a lot more cur price options up front. Down back McDonald is about the only rookie with some semblance of JS, the rest we're hoping on, and the cheap options don't really look that good below Suckling anyway. Maybe some Webster in there.

I think counting on Laidler as a field player is risky, if he's named round 1 he'd get a bench spot for me, but I'm not even confident of that happening.

Cheers mate, I've gone a 4 premo midfield, but have Leuey and Sandi in rucks.
