Watson vs Cotchin

Which one of these guys would you pick?

Current midfield is Ablett, Rockcliff, Libba, -------- , Beams, Tyson, Mitchie, Polec (X.Ellis, Dunstan)

Watson for me, will go 120+ but Cotchin is good value too, needs to kick more goals though to be a top midfielder I think.

Providing he doesn't get suspended by ASADA, Watson. He will average more, and has a better bye. Cotchin will still push for a spot in the top 10 mids though, probably an upgrade target for me if he's doing really well just after the byes.

No idea, and ASADA will not care about getting it done before the season starts

Cotchin because a) he's much better $ value than Watson and b) much less likely to be ASADA banned. I think the can both average similarly, maybe Watson ahead by literally ~2ppg but that still means Cotchin will come up more than Watson. Get the cheaper guy now.

It could be ages, I'm still not tempted to roll the dice when I genuinely think there will be congestion of midfielders for the no.5-15 spot... Gablett, Pendles, Swan will be top 3 imo, Jelwood a safe bet to follow them closely but beyond that it's a pretty open field I think. Beams, Watson, Cotchin, Rocky, Griffen, Stevie J, K.Jack, Sloane, Montagna, Libba, Fyfe, Barlow...

That's probably true he maybe a little cheaper, BUT, he will also give you massive scores before the byes!! He's expensive for a reason ;)  Oh and Jobe will score bigger than Cotch..

All this talk about Pendles being too expensive, is anyone tempted or have chosen Swan? Like a precious post said should be top 4 along with Selwood, Gaj and Pendles.

Agree with most of this but would like to suggest that whilst Watson will probably score more than Cotchin, value for money has me thinking I would go Cotchin but I am definite about GAJ, Pendles and D Beams, so Cotchin misses out due to his bye clash.

Personally I think having 3 premo mids out during round 8 is too much IMO.

You want two out at the most (Ablett and Beams) so you can still have a competitive midfield for the round 8.

Say you have a 5 premo midfield of Ablett, Watson, Rockcliff, Libba and Beams.

When round 8 bye comes along  you'll still have Watson, Rockcliff and Libba at least to score you points from your midfield.

I know you only need best 18 starting during bye rounds but I still feel its important to have a few guys in your midfield during round 8 bye who can pump out big scores and who you can put vc and the big c on.  8)

Settle down JM you would have used 14 trades by the time round 8 comes around  ;)
