B: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, K. Simpson, S. Hurn, M. Suckling, L. McDonald (T. Clurey, A. Georgiou)

Feel like I need to have only the 1 rookie on the ground as not many jumped out that will most likely get games. I have the 3 premos along with a possible premo in hurn who is underpriced and has an easy draw, along with suckers who is good value. McDonald should get games as he looked good and clurey and Georgiou are still up in the air, depends if they are named.

M: G. Ablett, S. Pendlebury, D. Beams, D. Thomas, J. Martin, D. Tyson, C. Beams, V. Michie (X. Ellis, L. Dunstan)

Yes, it is weak, however it has to be in order to improve my team in other positions. I will have a slow start to the season because of this, however with all the cash generation being made i will be able to upgrade to premos sooner and have a stronger team earlier. Ablett and Pendles i need to have and beams is great value along with Daisy. Martin hasn't shown a lot but i'm still sticking by him, hopefully if he ends up scoring alright he could be a POD. Tyson is a gun and will make lots of cash, along with scoring pretty high. Beams depends if he gets named but showed his capable a few years back, michie and ellis should both average around 70 and dunstan very good with the contested ball. Martin may become Polec if his named round 1.

R: D. Cox, A. Sandilands (T. Derickx, F. Thurlow)

Havn't been impressed by any ruckman in NAB really and although id love to start with nic nat, im just worried about his lack of game time. Cox has had a great pre season and showed enough in his one game he played, 14 possessions from 40% game time, not bad for a ruckman, im hoping he gets majority of the rucking role early while they get some time into nic nat. Sandi is a lock at that price. Derickx looks good as Pykes back up and Thurlow could get games with belly out, along with all the ASADA stuff.

F: P. Dangerfield, N. Riewoldt, D. Martin, J. Caddy, S. Higgins, G. Rohan (S. Kersten, J. Kennedy-Harris)

Danger is a lock and i have Riewoldt as a POD, yes i know he costs a lot but im not sold on anyone else and i reckon he will have to carry stkilda this year, last night they got smashed by GWS however he still managed 19 possessions, 5 marks, 2 goals and 96 supercoach points from just 59% game time, he is a champion of the game and hopefully he has one big year left! Martin looks good so far. Like the breakout contender in caddy, should definitely improve with more mid time and less subs. Higgins is great value if he strings some games together and rohan is there only due to JS. Rookies subject to change but JKH should play.

Your team is very similar to mine. At this stage I am going with the weaker mids too, to get all other lines stronger. Yes we are one mid premo down, but we have better scoring and JS in other lines so I am backing this structure in too

Ill post my updated team very soon, so check it out to see how similar we are :)

Your midfield rookies are stronger than mine, but my forward line is stronger (No Rohan for me)

Really like your team and think that this sort of structure is the way to go as we are not relying on poor rookies to fill F6 and D6 etc

Cheers mate and exactly, its not like the mid rookies score bad either, most of those guys are capable of 80+ if given the opportunity whereas forwards and back rookies are probably more 50-60 points. Il have a look at yours when its up mate. Mid rookies generate the most cash so that's my plan, to make the most cash I can early to upgrade to a full side.

If you're going for overall you simply have to start 5 solid mids. I tried going a little light in the mids last season to take advantage of all the good rookie options and never managed to catch up.
