really can't be bothered typing much out, so this will do

Under 200k
Defender rookies (likely for R1) - McDonald, Laidler, Clurey, Langdon

Fwd Rookies (likely for R1) - Rohan, JKH, ???

Im thinking of running those 4 in defence, with Rohan & JKH as my only fwd rookies (Higgins at F6)

My Defence: Thompson, Simpson, Hurn, Suckling, McDonald, Laidler (Clurey, Langdon)
My Fowards: Dangerfield, Martin, Franklin, Gray, Pavlich, Higgins (Rohan, JKH)

Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

i just dont think we can play 2 starting rookies in defence man ... will pray that all those 4 start but i dont like the chances of all 4 starting

No i don't think we are.

In defense I don't think Langdon, Clurey and Laidler are likely.

Langdon still has Seedsman, Harry O, Toovey and Clarke ahead of him.

Laidler has Rampe and then Johnson when back ahead of him.

Clurey is fighting for a spot with all the other rookies from last year.

Up forward JHK and Rohan are the only very likely ones but there are a whole lot of maybes.

LLoyd (rich), Merrett (ess), Kersten + Mccarthy (gee), Honeychurch (wb) and Taylor+Bourke (bris)

Surely at least 1 or 2 of them will play...

While in defense there are really only 3 or 4 possibilities.

Seeds man isn't ready, O'Brien will start on the wing, Toovey won't pull up and Clarke is hopeless IMO, so there's every chance he could get a game, increased by the fact Williams could go to jail which opens up two spots. I'd watch him.

Laidler I think isn't rated very high by Longmire, so he's not a good choice as he's the 2/3 option.

Clurey is a big chance to play IMO.

For those forward rookies Merrett, McCarthy/Kersten & Lloyd stand out for me.
Depending on ASADA Merrett could be a very viable option if there's suspensions handed out. I think one of McCarthy/Kersten will play and as Kersten is injured McCarthy could get the nod.
Lloyd is an interesting one.. Don't think he's shown enough yet. Other choices are pretty unreliable at this stage.

Personally I've got Rohan and JHK as my two rookies. Rohan is very integral to Sydney and they have big plans for him, the same with JKH. Keep looking though.

At the moment I can't think of 1 FWD/MID cheap rookie that is going to play round 1 maybe Taylor from the Lions when fit might be the best hope  :-\

The forward rooks are very very thin IMO.

Rohan has the most job security, but is a rubbish SC player.
Impey has to push out Neade, Z.Merrett is very young, Lennon is hurt, Garlett is out of the picture. None of the Brisbane guys have broken out into an obvious selection. Honeychurch hasn't done much

JKH and what Roos thinks of him are very important at this stage

i think we will be lucky to be able to field a rookie up forward or down back come round 1, currently have my team set up with no rookies on field in either position and will then change it up IF rookies pop up come round 1

Yes I think we are, there is pretty much no certain forward rookies at this stage at all. It's pretty much nearly as worse as the backs if not worse but the difference is there is a shower load of midpricers like Fasolo, Higgins, Blease, Rohan, Bock, Menzel and a few more.

absolutely this ... i think we all are forced to pick rohan now ... those other boys there is so much risk with all of them ... really dont wanna be sacrificing mid rookies ...so

I reckon Sam Lloyd could be a shot at playing round 1 for Richmond.
Good lad from my local area and played well in a VFL team that didn't win too many in 2013.

Wouldn't average more than 65 but has played well in pre season and is pressing his claims.
At 117k, if listed to play in round 1 - surely a lock.

I think he didn't play because Roos has seen enough already. I'm quite confident he will play round 1.

yeah doubt honeychurch will play he isnt ready and yeah i think kersten will be a fwd rookie for mine
