What are peoples thoughts?

ben_020285

People think the following:

- That he was lucky to average so much last year as some of his scores were inflated by match winning goals.

- That he will attract more attention this year from opposition taggers.

- That he only scores big against the weaker teams and that the Power have a tougher draw this year so his scores will drop.

It's for those reasons that he isn't in many starting teams.

We didn't see a lot of him in NAB but think he will be a good scorer again this year , I don't know if he will match last year or exceed it but he is going to be a very good player for a long time

I really like him as a pick. You have to have Dangerfield. It's hard not to have D Martin. Can't start with them all. He's one to watch and probably upgrade to rather than start with for mine.

His scores were inflated by match winning goals?

So hes the type of player that can win games off his own boot?

And winning games off his own boot increase his scores?

::)

Whats not to love?

colmullet

not going anywhere near him unless he proves he's up to it before his bye

GoLions

Have him as an upgrade target atm, don't want spend over 500k on him after just the one good year though, and had a number of inflated scores due to match winning goals (although this could happen again this year, quite unlikely). I'll be keeping a close watch on him though

I agree with this. Did anyone stop to think he may be the sort of player to regularly win games rather than just "he got lucky" Where do people see the tags going - Hartlett? Boak? Wingard?
however I also agree with this

Can't fit him in but watching him closely.

Also Port may have a tougher draw but they are also are more formidable side. And guys like Wingard and Wines are part of this.

Dayze

I can completely understand why everyone is scared off by him. All the above points are completely valid.
But there is something very special about this guy. Champion data seem to have a hard on for him.

Could end up averaging 80.
Could end up averaging 105.
I like him. Wether or not I've the guts to select him is another thing

I'd love to pick Wingard at F3, but it's just so hard to tell how he will go.

Got 78 points from a measly 12 touches in Port's second NAB game, which is crazy! Champion Data definitely have a thing for him.

Even though some of his bigger scores last season were against weaker teams, with another preseason under his belt there's no reason why natural development won't allow him to score well against tougher teams. Particularly of Port do as well this year as they did in 2013.

Between him and Buddy for me at the moment. This will be a hard decision.

Chad   vs    Buddy + $44100?

I know who wins that one.
