Whats peoples thoughts on this guy? Can he average 115 this season? Ive not really tracked his pre season so any advice would be great.

Typhnn

From what i've read he's had a good preseason like everyone, and there was talk he might play mid with a half-forward role like what Hirdy did...

There is a chance that he can increase his score but that more comes down to his DE%...  id say he will be on par as last year...

Cheers

I'd say he'll average around 110 this year, his DE lets him down. As soon as he improves on that, don't see why he can't go 115+

nat fyfe is my love child!!!!! the bloke is a freak of the comp ... just keep backing him for the brownlow

Cotchin or Fyfe?
Cotchin, although Fyfe has a better bye if you're worried about that

tor01doc

Fyfe has a better bye.

Cotchin to join my team after his bye if he proves worthy.

not really taking byes into consideration just trying to pick best side. I really cant decide between the two at this stage, both will get tagged, both had a good pre season, both should shine, prob toss a coin or go with what you guys are saying about fyfe having a better bye rd??

Deledio will get the tag before Cotchin I would assume, and Mundy/Hill (and maybe Pearce?) should get it before Fyfe, so getting tagged shouldn't affect either of these guys too much. I think Cotchin will average around 5ppg more than Fyfe, but if you already have Ablett, Pendles, Beams in your side, Fyfe may be a better option to start the year with.

Fyfe is a better pick than cotchin ... fyfe too hard to tag even if they tried ,, they put a runner on him and he will beat them in the air, they put a air timer on him and he will beat him round the ground ... if fyfe improves disposal by 2 in every 10 kicks score will rival the better scers of the comp mark my words

OK well I think you have sold me on Fyfe, I will mark you words, only problem is now I have $1300 left and Fyfe is 3k more expensive than Cotch.

Yes I agree IF he cleans up his DE. I started him last year and was disappointed with 105. He was cheap so it was OK.

He is hard to tag but that doesn't mean they won't try. That is partly what makes his DE so poor. I see Hill and Fyfe getting the first tags.

With Gumbleton out he will play a lot up forward cos as u say he is good in the air. But it will affect his SC output a little so on top of his DE and all the other mid options I can't pick him again this season.

He is 1 of the best talents around no doubt but it hasn't transferred to SC elite scoring yet.

Ok I just did a little research from last season.

Fyfe got tagged 8 times - r1 - Scooter  - 96
                                     r5 -Jackson - 93
                                     r9 - McKenzie - 128
                                     r13 - Greenwood - 131
                                     r17 - Jackson - 88
                                     r20 - Whiley - 105
                                     r21 - McKenzie - 78
                                     r22 - Moore - 122
Interesting is r19 vs Carlton where they tagged Pearce,Mundy and Hill.

Looking at his numbers, it was a few REALLY quiet games that I can't explain (r12- 77,r14 - 68) plus a few where he got tagged that prevented him from a 115+ average.

Can anyone explain those 2 games? (he wasn't tagged) Also if anyone can convince me he'll tidy up his DE then I'll def reconsider!

I really do love watching Fyfe play - easily one of the best guys I like to see with the ball but I just cant bring myself to pick him in SC.

I just see other players around the same price with more SC consistency and scoring ability

Cant quite put my finger on it, but something just doesn't sit right with me, I couldn't pick him to start

My early tip for the Brownlow. But as far as SC I think he can get to that 115 mark. But it's no mystery what has to improve, his disposal. It's not as though he is a terrible kick, just the role he plays for the side can cause a few clangers. However, to be elite they need to lessen, as soon as they do I'll be on.
