This is a first draft, with 570k still in the bank.
This Pretty much for use in upgrading rookies to more secure ones when they become clearer. Also for Nic Nat if I need to change that. The the excess can be used to upgrade to a premo if possible.
Prefer Mcdonald on the bench in the midfield as cover and the DPP link to defence.
Not starting Jack Martin as I think the others offer more cash generating power, all 3 should play. Dustin Martin aswell as with the change to the scoring system it doesn't look like it will suit his scoring style.

Def: Looks fine.  Not sure about the Ashby selection though.  He's shown a bit but not sure about his job security.
Mid: dangerous leaving Pendles out, might be difficult to bring him in later.  McDonald is too much cash on your bench.  I'd either look at moving him to your backline or look at downgrading him or Ellis and spend the cash on field.
Ruc: NicNat is in doubt for round 1 so watch that.  Sandi has looked good so far though.
Fwd: Higgins is an SC no for me, and apparently Newman is in a similar position to Marley Williams from the pies (found guilty of same crime and is awaiting sentencing) so I'd steer clear.

Solid side. Not sure on your def rookies tho.
IMO better value that J steven around the 600k mark but is a POD.  Risky not starting with Pendles.  Mid rookies good.
Not sure Nic Nat will play Rd 1 and if he does he will be managed as has had no pre season hit out.
Higgins.. Surely you have learnt not to get him by now.

Overall not bad tho!!

Def: All Rookies are still being scouted as there isn't many def rokie locks yet. I have 570k in the bank to make changes as required to the rookies.
Mid: I think only 1 of Ablett & Pendles is the way to go at this stage. I went Ablett at this stage. Im happy with Mcdonald on the bench as he has alot of job security. Being a DPP he can cover both midfield and defence. Ellis is one i am still considering what to do.
Rucks: Nic Nat i now under a cloud, which is another reason i have the spare cash to change if required.
Forward: Higgins im not convinced on, there are options to change this or depending on the rookie cash reqired i may be able to get another premo.

Defs: Have money to switch them around once i have more options. Not a huge amount of Job security in there yet.
Mids: I believe JackSteven will be a top 5 midfielder come year end. He is a good POD and has a pretty good draw to start the season.
Rucks: Money is there to change Nic Nat if needed
Forwards: Higgins is there mainly for the position and price, easy swithc to a rookie, straight swap to a daniher who will average 70 and go up in price slightly or upgrade to a 4th premo.

Crate

Defense will be a bit shaky by round 9 with 3 hawks and blues out? Perhaps change Langford for someone? L Mcdonald?

Updated version.
Still considering the R1 spot & Rocky > Cotchin
Wright & Bugg as PODS that I think will average 85+ this year.

Reckon Bugg can score well?

Yeah I think that he will make the jump up to 85+
Especially with Heath Shaw coming into the team he may get a bit more space to sag off his player.

great team, can't improve on much now

Thanks. I have a couple of choices still to make

1: Rockliff, Watson, Fyfe or Cotchin as M3
2: Lobbe, Mcevoy, Luey (Need to alter team a little for this)
3: Keep team exactly as last post with the above change
4: Change Bugg to a rookie & upgrade Aish to Thomas
5: Change Bugg to a rookie & upgrade Wright to Martin.

1. I'd take Rocky, I think he will explode this year. I have a no-bomber policy so no Jobe for me. Fyfe could be a good pick
2. If I had confidence in Lobbe I'd love to grab him. I currently have Leuey but the extra cash going Lobbe would be handy. I'm not a fan of McEvoy personally
3.
4. If you switch Bugg to rookie that is 2 on field which is risky.
5. Wright to Martin would be a very strong fwd line - 5 premos. I don't like wright so I would get rid of him.
